Eight of us often go out for a holiday tour to different places. Since our school days, we have been friends, which
means we have known each other for more than forty years. It’s pretty long years, isn’t it?
Once, we visited Panchaligaswar, Odisha. We travelled by Toyota Fortuner, which was driven and
owned by one of our friends.
It was three night four, days trip, and the whole journey was driven by a single person who came to
the conclusion that how passionate the friend is about going.
We left Kolkata around 6.30 am and had breakfast on the road. After travelling around 250 km the
navigator friend missed the route, and we had crossed the turn for almost 80 km.
We all shouted at our friends and had to take them to lunch in a non-scheduled place. The lunch was
horrifyingly hot.
We were supposed to reach Roopark resort( the place where our staying arrangement was made)
around 1.30 pm and to have lunch there, but we got around 3.30 pm because of misdirection of
our beloved friend.
Anyway, we were tired after this long drive and decided to stay back in the resort for that day. It was
a lovely place to stay as you can see the hill and the beauty of nature.
In the evening, we sat together and shared the sweet memories of our school days. The
mischiefs we did, the punishment we took, the game we played. We were becoming a child again
when we were cherishing the thoughts.
The next day we went to the nearby jungle. We hard bison, elephant, boar, and sloth bear are
common in the wilderness. We drove through the jungle and saw deer, bison, and elephant. It was
so thrilling that we escaped the lunch. We returned around 6 pm to the resort.
The next day, we saw the Panchalingaswer temple and the local marketplace. we had our
lunch at a local place with indigenous cooking.
The following early morning, we left for Kolkata.
We always try to arrange these outings with old friends to refresh our minds for the
new.
