I learned four-wheeler driving in 1995. Though I knew two-wheeler going earlier than that.
I used to drive the Lambretta scooter of my brother when I was at college.
Later he purchased a Bajaj Chetak scooter. I bought a scooter when I joined my first job.
My driving learning was with the Ambassador car, which we owned. The Driver's uncle taught me to drive very sincerely.
No power steering was there, and the gear handle was just beside the steering. I started learning very slowly as I was not a very good learner.
I hit trees, stones, cows, and many things while learning. I was not able to back the car as my concept was poor.
In short, I was a horrible learner, but my Driver uncle was committed to making me learn to drive. I still don’t know if he was getting any extra amount for my driving lesson.
Anyway, I got the four-wheeler driving license, and I stopped driving.
After purchasing my second car, Maruti Desire, I told my driver that I would urge the car while returning from the office one day.
My driver was astonished because he had neither seen me driving the car for the last eight years nor knew that I was going.
He left the driving seat for me and sat beside me, and I brushed a person while driving that day. That was the last day of my driving in Kolkata for the time being.
When I left for Mumbai and purchased another car there, I kept one driver. But he was very irregular, and I had to start driving again seriously.
I drove to Pune, Goa, and other nearby places in Mumbai and started loving driving.
I came back to Kolkata again and had a driver. He is very regular at his duty and does not allow me to drive the car, but I try to move on every occasion.
