How about creating something that is on purpose not perfect?

Yesterday I showed the finished sculpture of the inner critic to my therapist, and we began to discuss how we can interact with him. The first discovery for me was that this is not a 100% negative character, as I first thought. And then we also found out that he has such a strange expression on his face due to the fact that he himself is shocked at how much he needs to criticize.

My main problem is that I have a really hard time accepting intermediate results. When they seem to be already there, but it seems that this is not yet what I was striving for. And it turns out that all the way to a big goal, I absolutely do not encourage myself. Of course, this affects motivation, because you can only ride on enthusiasm alone for a limited amount of time.

So far I can't think of a way to fix this. After all, we are talking about an internal feeling, whether something is done well or badly, and it is quite difficult to change it with the effort of thought. But it looks like you have to try.

And I am quite consciously now learning to make mistakes. I am learning sometimes to do worse, sometimes not to 100%, because here, ultimately, it is about getting the priorities right.

Tomorrow I'm going to the pottery workshop to seriously work on two sculptures that I have already finished, and now it remains to make the glaze. I am very interested in what will turn out in the end, but unfortunately I will be able to pick them up only a day after firing.

In the meantime, I'm going to take that pseudo-clay from which the critic sculpted the sculpture, and make the scariest pot in the world out of it. And then I’ll paint it too scary, I really wanted to do something not perfect :)
