Hello my dear friends!
August is the month when the chicks that have grown up with us begin to learn how to live independently. At this point, they are already fully fledged and can fly. But the difficulty lies in the fact that they trust people too much and are not afraid of other animals. Therefore, whenever possible, I try to house them with adult birds and not interact with them except when I feed them or when they are sick.
Baby crows always have a special place in my house. These are birds that are especially close to humans. They have a high level of intelligence and are very sociable. They quickly get used to the person who cares for them and never forget.
In the photo above, you can see how the baby crow sleeps. If you do not know that everything is in order with the bird, this sight may seem strange 😁
Because of the qualities of these birds, there is a very great temptation to have a crow as a pet. I want to say right away that if you do not have your own yard and outdoor enclosure, this is a very bad idea. It will be very difficult for you. The crow is a very smart bird. But she also knows how to misbehave, steal things and ... poop on walls and floors ...
In nature, the crow eats by holding food with its claws and tearing it with its beak. This is the moment I always look forward to.
Therefore, as soon as the crow babies begin to eat on their own, I move them to a outdoor enclosure. It is also important for the prevention of rickets. If you are raising a chick indoors, make sure it has enough light and vitamins!
Crows are omnivores. But this does not mean that you can give the bird any food. It should be "healthy" food. Do not add salt! If you give meat or cottage cheese, they should not be fatty. By the way, no need to cook the meat! A mother crow never cooks meat for her chicks! 😁
Today is an important event. Bayraktar and Javelin moved from the enclosure to my garden. I still leave food for them there until they learn how to forage for it themselves, but now they are free to fly, explore the area and meet other crows. Luckily, we have many crow flocks where they can learn the wild life.
As for Karma... she categorically refuses the role of "mother's chick" and prefers to spend time in my company...
