[Eng/Esp] Short Story: Contemplating the birth of a new world/ el nacimiento de un nuevo mundo

-What time should we start?

-It won't be long now, don't get impatient.

-I'd like to start now, because as far as I can see we have a lot of work ahead of us and I'd like to go early to the bar to watch the soccer match.

-Me too, but... What can you do. Work is work and you have to earn your daily bread.

-And the daily beer! -he comments with a smile that reveals his shining teeth.

Both men are part of a large group of workers preparing their machinery to remove each of the trees in the forest; a forest that must be completely cut down and each fallen tree must be taken to the factory to be processed as paper.

The destruction will be imminent, nothing will be left standing, it will be a gloomy and desolate scenario produced by the hands of these men. And everyone can know it except those beings of innocent appearance, and that have inhabited it for decades, centuries or even you can say that thousands of years; such as our little friend of tiny size, hairy fur, and holding with his two front legs a small food product that the same forest has given him. This squirrel with big black shiny eyes stands staring at all the movement and logistics of the men: some are inside tractors, while others are walking and carrying chainsaws in their hands, ready to fulfill their mission.

Loud noises are heard from the fallen trees, so many that they are deafening as well as the machines.

The birth of the new world is in the future.

-¿A qué hora debemos comenzar?

-Tan solo falta poco, no te impacientes.

-Me gustaría empezar ya, porque por lo que veo tenemos mucho trabajo por delante y me gustaría irme temprano al bar para ver el partido de fútbol.

-Yo también, pero... Qué se le va a hacer. Trabajo es trabajo y toca ganarse el pan diario.

-Y la cerveza diaria! -comenta con una sonrisa que deja ver sus dientes resplandecientes.

Ambos hombres forman parte de un grupo numeroso de trabajadores que preparan sus maquinarias para remover cada uno de los árboles del bosque; bosque que debe de ser talado por completo y en que a cada árbol caído debe de ser llevado a la fabrica para ser procesado como papel.

La destrucción será inminente, nada quedará en pie, será un escenario tétrico y desolador producido por las manos de estos hombres. Y todo el mundo lo puede saber menos aquellos seres de apariencia inocente, y que lo han habitando desde hace decadas, centurias o incluso se puede decir que miles de años; tal y como nuestro pequeño amigo de tamaño diminuto, de piel peluda, y que sostiene con su dos patas delanteras un pequeño producto alimenticio que el mismo bosque le ha dado. Esta ardilla de grandes ojos negros sobresalientes y brillosos, se queda mirando fijamente todo el movimiento y la logística de los hombres: algunos van dentro de unos tractores, mientras que otros van caminando y portando en sus manos unas motosierras, ya listos para cumplir con su misión.

Se escuchan fuertes ruidos de los árboles caídos, tantos que resultan ensordecedores al igual que las máquinas.

El nacimiento del nuevo mundo esta porvenir.
