LOVE AT FIRST GAZE

Once upon a time, when I was just a teenage boy I love to play and swim on this lake alone. I felt comfortable and free when I’m alone on this peaceful lake.

One day, at 10 in the morning I was diving onto the deep of the lake as I went up my head from the water to catch my breath from a long dive, I saw a beautiful lady, a blonde on a white dress standing on that rock looking at me smiling. Her smile and pretty face, I can’t explain what I felt that very moment, I was being baffled yet I’m afraid to close my eyes that she might be lost from my sight.

Shook my head then I realized she’s already laughing at me asking if I am fine why I’m staring at her like that. I did not expect that I replied to her “because I felt in love with you”. I’m tapping my head and said to myself “oh my God! what are you doing self you’re dreaming, wake up!”

The beautiful lady continued laughing and jumped off the lake and holds my hand as the water beside those rocks is at eight feet deep. She said to me, “you’re not dreaming Nick okay!” and she gently slapped my head. Wait, what? How did she know my name anyway? I did not even see her since my whole life until today.

She swims better than me, while she’s playing with the water swimming back and forth, I still can’t move on I was staring at her and I really felt in love instantly I don’t know why.

THE REVEALATION

Then, she shouted “help! I’m drowning! So, being a gentleman, straightway I swam towards her just like 5 meters away from me. As I am approaching to her, I swam under water because I can do it faster than floating. The lake is so clean the sun is reflecting the water that made it very clear even without wearing goggles.

I moved faster as I saw a big tail of a fish on the right spot where she is. I’m afraid she’s being bitten by a shark or some huge fish. Then I grabbed her arm, went up my head out from the water to see if she’s still with me. What the hell is happening, she’s smiling and said “hhmm why are you holding my hand? my mom will gonna see you and you’ll be forced to marry me haha”

I looked at her from the head and down, she’s half pretty lady and a half fish. I repeated it like 5 times and said again to myself “I am really dreaming, please somebody wake me up”. Then she slapped me hard on my face and asked “so you’re awake already?” I said NO I’m still dreaming.

Her smiling face changed she looks sad and disappointed I asked her why? what are you? who are you?

She replied with tears on her brown beautiful eyes “you humans are all the same, so what now, you will gonna tell your families, neighbor, friends and reporters that you found a half girl and a half fish then I will be captured for public show and my face will be on TV is that what you want now huh?!

No! (my reply) I am different from what you are thinking. Please just tell me what and who you are, you know my name and I don’t you it’s unfair.

The lady then said, my name is Nesha I am a 16-year-old mermaid. I am always watching you every time you are here in this lake. You are the only human I confidently show myself off with the grant of my parents. We are living under this lake 1km away from here towards the east. I like you Nick my parents won’t grant me to show my face to you because they are afraid of the consequences that might put the whole mermaid tribe in danger.

THE PROPOSAL

From that moment I felt relieve, I hugged her and said sorry, I knew it you like me that’s why I love you then she smiled. We are on the lake but I am not afraid I’m hugging a mermaid sure we won’t get drowned lol.

To make it official I ask her, Nesha the mermaid would you accept a human like me to be your boyfriend? Yes of course I waited this moment since long ‘she replied’.

That was the happiest and magical moment ever happened in my whole life. Having a real mermaid girlfriend was not easy yet full of happiness. She knows almost everything I do, she has the ability to read human mind and behavior. She can turn herself into human or a mermaid anytime she wants

Fast forward, the moment I introduced her to my parents they liked her so much not only because she’s beautiful but she also has a big heart that every parents-in-law wanted. What they did not know is I’m having in a relationship with a mermaid.

MISSING

Days became week, weeks became month, months became year until one day Nesha suddenly disappeared. Our meeting place is on this rock beside the lake where I met her the first time. I waited for her on that day but no Nesha came out at all.

Until date I am still waiting for her return. I hope there’s nothing happened to her and still hoping to see her again.
