Hello everyone, first and foremost I'd like to thank @amicablepeace for hosting such a wonderful contest. It is indeed a great pleasure to participate in this contest.
The teeth is one of the most physical parts of the body. It is the strongest bone in the body. Caring for it is very essential and important as it helps us in seeing food. Without the teeth, it's difficult to eat some certain food, hence the need to care for it.
HOW I CARE FOR MY TEETH
Knowing fully well that my teeth is very important to me, I make sure I take good care of it.
Every morning when I wake up, I brush my teeth. According to some articles I read some years back, it is not good to use strong toothbrushes to rush the teeth as the can damage the gums. With that, I stopped using strong toothbrushes, but rather go for softer ones.
Another article which I read during that same time also explained that while brushing, it is adviced to move the toothbrush up and down, and not left and right. Moving it left and right also damages the gums.
There was a program I also watched on TV sometime ago when I was very little, and they showed how to correctly brush the teeth. There was a practical session which they brought in an artificial teeth and demonstrated how it is done. It was when I grew older and read some articles about the teeth, that I realised the importance and meaning of that program.
Toothpaste is another thing I consider when I want to brush my teeth. There are certain toothpastes I do not use. When I was little, my parents always bought the 'Close-Up' toothpaste. We kept using that toothpaste until there was a time when my dad stopped using it. I didn't know why he stopped then, and he began to use the 'Oral B' toothpaste.
Sometimes, I use his toothpaste instead of the Close-Up toothpaste just to test how it works. But actually then, I don't find any difference.
Roughly 10 years ago, I stopped using the Close-Up toothpaste. I noticed, even though it brightened the teeth as they claim, it also gives the mouth an unpleasant smell. I don't know about others, but for I and a few other persons I have asked, it does give the mouth an unpleasant smell. I began to understand why my dad stopped using the Close-Up toothpaste.
Since then, I have been using the Oral B toothpaste. It smells nice, soft, jelly, and has blue colour (My favourite colour). I have also tried other variants of the Oral B toothpaste, but I prefer the normal one. There's another variant with green colour, but I don't like to use that one. The Oral B toothpaste doesn't give the mouth unpleasant smells, but it freshens the breathe with the help the added menthol inside it.
After brushing my teeth in the morning, at night too, I make sure I brush it before going to bed. This is a routine I actually copied from my younger sister. I think I actually started this routine 2 years back. My sister would always brush at night before going to bed. I adopted that routine from her and it has been very helpful.
I also avoid too much of cold foods including ice creams. I take ice creams once in a while. It was when I was very little I always want to take ice cream. I really love ice cream when I was very little. I also try to avoid too much acidic foods. Whenever I finish eating, I wash my mouth with water so as to remove any hanging food substance in my mouth or teeth.
In addition, I also take fruits like orange, apple, watermelon, etc which helps in building strong gums and healthy teeth. I also take milk as well.
CONCLUSION
I do have a beautiful smile and a gap-tooth (As you can see in my first picture). Many of my friends and relations, even people who meet me or I meet for the first time, always compliment my gap-tooth. I got the smile of my dad as well as his gap-tooth. In fact, my siblings too got that from him. I also have his smile. Those who know my dad always tell me that.
Someone told me one time they were jealous of my gap-tooth. My gap-tooth is really attractive and I love it. So, if I have such amazing teeth that attracts people to me, then that's a more reason I should care for it.
These are the ways I take care of my teeth. Thank you for stopping by and for your continuous support.
