All the snakes in the world try to avoid humans but the only killing machine famous 'Russell Viper' does not have that feature. Russell Viper ranks 5th in the world as a venomous snake, but it ranks first in terms of violence and attack.
They are so quick to attack that, according to National Geographic, the Russell Viper can complete the entire biting process in about 1 1/2 of a second. A significant portion of the world's snakes die each year from snake bites. Their teeth are the second largest in the world. They can hiss loudly.
Russell Viper's venomous homotoxin causes human flesh to rot when bitten. The Bengali name of this terrible Russell Viper is 'Chandrabora' but they are better known as Russell Viper. Scientific name: Daboia russelii.
They raise their heads from the very front and bite. The severity of their poisoning is so high that very few patients survive. The place where it bites begins to rot. In the case of other snakes, the patient is considered safe after 48 hours, but in the case of Russell Viper, the patient recovers and dies on the way home.
It is very difficult to save the person who was bitten by Russell Viper. Many times the venom of the Russell Viper can be neutralized but the stinging place rot. Then the patient died in a very short time. Even after cutting off the rotten part, life cannot be saved by rapid rotting all over the body. Many people are stung for its intolerant use and long poisoned teeth.
The venom of the snake causes excessive bleeding and the patient may die after much pain. However, in most cases, many die of heart attack due to fear.
Other snakes bite and eat the prey immediately, but the ferocious Russell Viper loves to eat the prey not only alone but with his whole family, so other snakes like a rat bite and the Russell Viper bites and leaves. Russell Viper chased after the rat, which was in agony, and ate all the rats.
They look a lot like pythons but are usually 4 to 5 feet long. But this month, locals in Chapainawaganj killed a Russell viper that was 6 feet long. There is no information that such a long Russell Viper has been seen anywhere in the world before. They are found in every area on the banks of the Padma, including the Barind area of North Bengal, Bangladesh. Their presence has been growing very fast in the last few years.
The idea was that they were extinct in Bangladesh. They have not seen each other for 25 years, but after about 25 years, they saw the poisonous snake Russell Viper again in 2012 in the Barind area of Chapainawabganj. In Chapainawabganj alone, 15 people died of the poison that year.
Researchers believe that the snake came to Bangladesh from India after being extinct for 25 years. Because the presence of this snake is most in the coastal area of Padma.
It was seen again in Rajshahi in 2013, the year after 2012. So far, hundreds of people have died in these areas in the last few years due to snake bites. Farmers are the most killed by this snake attack. They are most common in paddy fields but usually prefer to have these snakes in bushes, under dry tree trunks, under coconut trees, in barns.
However, there is controversy over whether these snakes float in flood waters as they are as weak as they are in fast water.
Russell Viper breeds very fast. Where other snakes lay 20 to 40 eggs, a Russell viper lays up to 60 eggs. As a result, this Russell Viper is growing rapidly.
Adnan Azad Asif has been researching wildlife photography as well as wildlife for 15 years. He said, looking at this snake from a snake or any other medium, one cannot get an idea of it.
He said that he has encountered this snake 4 times in the wild environment so far, if you do not see it face to face, you will not understand how terrible and brave this snake is.
He added that one of the reasons for the high incidence of this snake attack in the Barind region is that the soil in that area and the skin color of Russell Viper are almost the same so people go to them without seeing them for a long time. If you see this snake, it is better to move away safely, but if you are aware of some things, it is possible to avoid it. E.g.-
Don't touch the old tree in the vicinity.
Using gumboots while harvesting paddy.
Before he starts to cut the paddy, he makes a loud noise with a pot or something so that he runs away in fear.
Since they are very violent, move consciously in all areas where they are most visible and move away from the front when you notice their presence.
Thanks
