Trifle comes to mind when you say hartaki. Triphala means a combination of three fruits. These three fruits are Amalki, Haratki and Behera. However, among the three fruits, hartaki has extraordinary qualities. When the hartaki is ripe, it turns yellowish green and if it is chewed in the mouth, it does not throw away anything. The inner shell of the seed can also be eaten with fun. Triphala is used in the manufacture of Ayurvedic medicines, which have rich medicinal properties. It is also used to treat cholera and dysentery. Hartaki powder, mixed with ghee, relieves gallstones, especially through purification. Hartaki is also used in piles, asthma, skin, wounds, conjunctivitis. Hartaki wood is very hard and durable. This wood is used for building houses and even for making lovely furniture. Due to other qualities, people plant hartaki trees along with neem trees in the yard of almost every house in Bengal. Even the government has concentrated on planting roadside hartakis under the afforestation program.

Now we will look at the qualities of Haratki: -----

In Ayurvedic science, Triphala is one of the three fruits known as Harataki. It has many qualities. The taste is bitter, it is a fruit rich in tannins, amino acids, fructose and beta cytosterol.

Use of hartaki: ---

Harataki cleanses the intestines of the body and at the same time increases the strength of the body. It lowers blood pressure and intestinal cramps. Eliminates heart and intestinal irregularities. It is a laxative, astringent, lubricant, parasitic, antiseptic, anti-intestinal spasm and nerve tonic. It is therefore used in the treatment of constipation, nervous weakness, fatigue and overweight. Hartaki is rich in laxative properties due to the presence of anthraquinone. Harataki relieves constipation. Hartaki is especially useful in relieving allergies. Allergies are reduced by drinking the boiled water. Boil the hartaki powder with coconut oil and apply it on the scalp. Mixing harataki powder with water will increase the radiance of the skin. If you have a sore throat or swollen face, you can get relief by boiling it in hot water and gargling with that water. If there is pain in the teeth, apply hartaki powder, the pain will go away. Before going to bed at night, mix 2 grams of cloves or cinnamon with a little bit of salt and eat hartaki powder to clean the stomach.

  1. Increases digestion and flatulence -
    5 to 6 grams of harataki peel mixed with a small amount of bit salt or black salt taken 3 times a day after meals increases digestion and reduces flatulence.

  2. Constipation -
    Crush 5 to 6 grams of harataki peel and mix it with equal amount of sugar and take it with hot water at night to get rid of constipation.

  3. Hiccup -
    Hiccups are eliminated by crushing 5 grams of harataki peel and taking it with hot water 3 to 4 times a day.

  4. In Inflammation -
    It is beneficial to take 5 to 6 teaspoons of gulach juice 3 to 4 times a day by crushing the husk of 8 grams of hartaki.

  5. Hemorrhoids -
    Hemorrhoids are cured by taking 3 to 4 grams of hartaki powder with a little sea salt.

. Asthma -
Asthma is cured by filling a thick cigarette pipe with hartaki or smoking it by burning it like a bidi.

. Hartaki is also often used to quench thirst or nausea. Triphala i.e. Amalki, Bahera, Hartaki - each of the same amount of powdered sherbet is an antidote for lowering cholesterol. According to a team of drug researchers, in modern science, hartaki is used as an analgesic in the manufacture of medicine.

. Harvardi fruit powder is used for fever, cough, asthma, flatulence, bloating, enlarged liver and spleen, rheumatism, urinary tract diseases, lungs and bronchial diseases.
