In Bangladesh, as in other parts of the world, special initiatives will be taken to eliminate trans fats in food. ”

Member of Parliament Prof. Md. Habibe Millat said, "With the help of the Prime Minister, the level of trans fat in the diet can be reduced to 2 percent within the announced time."

Health experts say that 2 lakh 7 thousand people die of heart disease in Bangladesh every year, one of the reasons for this is trans fat.

According to the World Health Organization, high levels of trans fats increase the risk of dying from heart disease.

According to the agency, one crore 79 lakh people die of heart disease in the world every year, out of which about five and a half lakh people die due to consumption of industrial trans fat.

As many as 500 million people are still at risk of industrialized trans fats, most of them living in low- and middle-income countries.

According to the World Health Organization's 'Replacement Action' package announcement in 2016, the goal is to achieve an industrialized trans fat-free world by 2023.

In order to overcome this situation, everyone agreed on taking necessary steps in the movement to build a trans fat free Bangladesh by 2023.
