The numbness, tingling, sometimes pain or swelling of the palms and fingers from the wrists these problems are called carpal tunnel syndrome. Girls are three times more likely to have this problem. In particular, this problem often manifests itself during pregnancy.

Why is that?
There is a small tunnel or cavity in the wrist, called the carpal tunnel. Through this tunnel various veins and nerves enter the hand. One of them is the CDN nerve. Playing this nerve pressure in this tunnel for some reason causes such problems. This may be due to swelling, water retention or pressure. This problem is more common in women during pregnancy and after menopause. Repeatedly doing the same type of hand work (such as sewing, knitting, playing golf or playing the violin) puts pressure on the tunnel. Obesity is one of the causes.

What treatment

Such as painkillers or nerve painkillers, rest, splinting or physiotherapy. Sometimes surgery may be needed. Control blood sugar. See if you have thyroid problems.

How to reduce

Those who work at a desk, write or type on a computer can take a short break for 15 minutes. The arms should be at rest during work. Adjust the distance between the table and the hand. Occasionally do hand exercises during typing or writing breaks. Fist tightly, after a few seconds open the whole fist and stretch the hand tightly. If you wish, you can use a squeezed ball in this exercise.
