Why do the eyes and nose burning with tear gas?

Tear gas (tear gas) is not gas but powder. Exhaust fumes are made from a chemical process. The corneal nerves in the human eye are affected by tear gas. As a result, tears come out of the eyes, the pain starts. This gas contains alkaline chemicals in the chemical powder. The effect of which irritates the eyes.

Types of tear gas-

  1. CS (chlorobenzalmalononitrile or O-chlorobenzylidine malononitrile) - These are the most commonly used tear gas.

  2. CN (chlorostophenone) - It is more toxic and faster than CS gas. A person can suffer from blindness due to greater influence.

  3. OS (Oleum Capsicum) and PAVA - It can be called pepper spray. It is made from pepper. PAVA is a chemical prepared from pepper.
