Homemade Dry Shampoo

I was pretty excited then when Dry Shampoo became a ‘thing’ a few years ago. I’ve since learned that not all variations are good variations, and that quite possibly the best one can be made in my own kitchen.

When used properly, this homemade dry shampoo can improve the health of your hair. Baking Soda and Cornstarch work well separately to serve the same purpose, but I like a blend of the two – for absorption and texture respectively – mixed with a pinch of Cocoa Powder to tint. The Vanilla Bean is a nice addition- because even an unruly mane like mine should smell nice.

What We'll Need:

1/2 Cup Cornstarch
1/2 Cup Baking Soda
Optional: Pinch of Cocoa Powder
Optional: Vanilla Bean or Dried Lavender

How to make:

It's easy to make – just mix all ingredients. Store in a small jar.

You can apply by shaking directly from the jar using a small makeup brush. Rub the shampoo directly into your hair roots, and comb through.
