Another Six Co-Workers Got Positive Of COVID-19

Last October 2020 our office had covid-19 positive, one civil engineer and three from personnel department none of them are Filipino. They recovered after 14 days except the civil engineer who got positive again after the quarantine period and fortunately covid free after another 7 days.

In December, a Filipino couple both civil engineers in the procurement department got positive. The sad part was, including their two kids 8 years old, 4 years old and their senior citizen father. They were in home quarantine for like 20 days or more. As we asked them how’s their feeling during their quarantine period, the wife was crying as she suffered all the symptoms of being infected. She lost her taste and smell both of them had on and off fever. While their kids were just fine like they were not infected.

The doctor said to them, do not worry about your kids they are stronger than the three of you, worry for yourselves as you are taking maintenance.

The couple might be at risk because of their conditions, they are diabetic and with some medical maintenance. Thanks God free after more than 20 days they felt good and got negative results.

At that time, our office was not accepting visitors they might got the virus from the market. Because limited of stores were open, some are being closed temporarily for not following the implemented rules and safety of the government with regards to covid19.

Today’s Bad News

The big boss arrived at 12noon today and just told me always put your mask on we have six covid19 positive down there. What? We were here since 8 in the morning but the department where the people who are infected not even informed us about it. They are all located in the ground floor in the personnel department. While we are in the second floor so they can just drop a call to any of us in the floor and informed the others.

I don’t know why they are hiding it, the big boss is not even keeping it as a secret and informed us. Or maybe they’re afraid the workers will panic, I don’t think so. But for me, we should be informed specially the other guy is one of the drivers.

We have colleagues are working outside from time to time and any of the drivers will fetch them back and forth. That’s what I’m worrying about, in order to trace them as early as possible and to have them tested they should inform us who got infected.

We might not know there are more than six already but I hope not.

The Little Good News

I am working here at the second floor since early last year as I mentioned in my intro post. So I am away from the people who got infected already. I was in the first floor working in the procurement department. Luckily, I already transferred here before they got infected.

So today I still have a little good news because the covid19 positive are all working in the personnel department and none of them are going up here in our area unless necessary. Also, the driver that tested positive is not one of the drivers that brings us to office and home.

But still, I am little worried, 4 or 6 others are now on their way now for PCR test as they have contacted the driver since the last 7 days. We are living in the same building but we don’t really have contact to each other since they are not Filipinos we just say hi and hello if we meet outside of our respective flat.

I am worried because I am going for my vacation anytime soon. It’s my 2nd year here since my last vacation, last year my flight was being cancelled because of the lock down. I just pray that all of them will be fine and covid free after 7-14 days. To all the people anywhere in the world as well who are infected with the virus I pray for your fast healing.

Nobody wants the covid19 coronavirus of course, but the best thing if you are unlucky and got infected here in Saudi Arabia is how you get treated. You can have the COVID-19 PCR-test by the drive through and that’s for free. The result is fast as less than 24 hours.
