Protein has the highest TEF, meaning our body requires more energy to break it down compared to fats and carbs, so incorporating more protein in our diets ultimately helps us burn more calories!
Not only this, but more protein helps build more lean muscle mass, which in turn helps our bodies burn more calories at rest. You can see now why protein is so important for a healthy and lean body composition!
