25% of Chronic Pain Sufferers Turning to Cannabis

Patients are turning away from addictive opiates to non-habit forming cannabis. This comes as good news, and is the conclusion of a recent study.

In total, 37 States- have legalized medical cannabis. This is good for the economy and is helping people with chronic pain issues. Federal legalization will further allow for treatment options, and pending legislation is proposed to allow for more medical research into cannabis as a theraputic agent.

This is good news from a harm-reduction perspective. Opiates are habit forming and can damage the body. Opiates are big business, and have harmed communities and individuals, and the legalization of cannabis for medical purposes in the majority of states in the USA is helping to bolster it's use case as a chronic pain treatment option.
