There can be various reasons why a person might delegate the blurt power :

  1. If the person is inactive on blurt and is unable to use his or her blurt power.
  2. like you said that people are delegating to receive votes just like we see on many other Blockchain like on steemit there is justyy , nutbox , upvu etc who run a service.

Conclusion : It is my personal opinion only and i would love to know others opinion.

For me i am not able to vote regularly from my blurt power , i have 17000+ and i use to vote using it but i am unable to stay consistent so for me i found it wasting more than using so i delegated it to tomoyan and upvu.

I also respect your point of view as well and the only thing i don't like about voting service is that it votes post based on power delegated.
Be it a good , bad , or plagiarism post.

thank you.

You don't have the time to vote each day but you have enough time to create a post each day? Oo

yes , because i not bound to write anything professional and few days i can just share what i did today or how my day went but for voting i can vote 10 post a day with 100% and that means reading ten post for which i don't have time. I have delegated my power recently ( the entire amount ) i have been Curating others for months though when i was free and was practicing work from home.
I do miss to write but that is very less likely.

Yes delegation is best.

It's just that giving rewards and votes depend on person running the service.

Anyone can run same service as the code is open source with some tweaks and different values

I don't think these upvote services are social for the community!
What would you say if I delegated all my power?

You are right. They must be some balance. Also, the blockchain active members can better reward those who consistently engage with others blurtians.

The problem really is delegating to those services and not being social @double-u

I think it’s ok to delegate 1/2… and keep half to be social and upvote others.

It can be totally OK or an ultimate sin for some people.

This is true.

Look … If people go out and buy 1 Million Blurt to delegate to @Upvu… and earn from 1 post per day.. I think it is awesome.

Certainly within their right. But then, they also shouldn't be surprised when most in the community don't upvote their posts either and would rather share their stake allocation on those here who support others with their stake.

I'm finding myself really surprised by how many I'm in the process of cutting off from my votes because of this. Several who overall are quality posters, witnesses and such. But I believe for optimal growth of Blurt one doesn't seek every chance at optimal immediate profit and takes the time to invest in their neighbors here.

Tools like Upvu are seeing many delegate huge chunks of their stake for that immediate profit. Leaving sometimes crumbs left for their support of others. So they should be fine with receiving crumbs in return, or nothing even.

I undelegated to upvu… and will focus on Upvoting all good original content on my own

I think that's awesome. You are looked up to by so many for all you do for Blurt, and perhaps more than most (fair or unfair) your actions are examined as to how one should conduct themselves at Blurt.

Thank you for wanting more for the community that is within your grasp to give. It will be slow, so slow as to be unnoticable like when someone we know loses weight that we see daily it isn't so apparent as someone who hasn't seen the person in a while. But over time as we invest more in others one day we will remember back when so and so was just starting and now they are a dolphin, or perhaps an orca or whale and smile knowing that in our own small way we helped someone we grew to care so much for manifest the blessings we KNOW they deserve.

This system is so unique in blessing us for taking actions to bless others. I hate that I might come across like some televangelist at times, but I've seen so many examples personally where support I've been a part of has helped others eat, or buy diapers or pay a utility bill and such. When I stop and think about it all, how someone of low means like myself is blessed with such a tool that impacts another I'm in awe. Especially when I think this is all a dip for Blurt, that once others really see what is manifesting here in freedom, caring and abundance that one day I will see many otherwise unrealized dreams of mine manifest too.

Yes…. Blurt will help many. I’m glad to be a part of this project…. As a Blogger, a Curator, as Investor. Finally a place to share all my work.

Yes, only delegating and not interacting is non social.
But in any way they are supporting the blockchain by their power as it contributes.

It only is that the user may not have any interaction or content
