Once the kid is 13-14 tho you will have a trust worthy teammate unlike any other lol
It will probably be fun to teach them how to play the originals, take you back!

That's true, would be a lot of fun.
I guess most current games will be freeware by then. Hopefully there are still servers and players then!
If there is not servers and players, I will be the host lol I plan on gaming in my retirement too, I used to be more for sports, but honestly I just like the competition, its a fun way to distract yourself from the days stresses while also making your mind work critically and keeping it sharp. If you think Sudoku is good for the brain, just wait until you master a simulator like Age of Empires or Cities Skylines, you will have learned something and sharpened your response time
I liked online gaming (as we called it in the early days) because it brought together the team experience (cooperation) with the competitive format (capture the flag, total elim, etc). I was always the team player... staying alive as much as possible, resupplying everybody around me, spotting enemies, taking the lead as required but generally just bolstering my team. Took a while but I got very good at that. What I hated were the guys who used explosives on the servers where your own damage is reduces to zero... in other words they could basically just blow up the whole area and get blasted to safety, really hard to defend against LOL
