Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. The festive season comes with a lot of delicious meals to eat and drinks at dinner parties, family get-together, staff parties, reunion parties etc. Due to the abundance of food everywhere there may be the temptation to eat on sight without paying attention to the amount of food consumed - even fitness enthusiasts may fall victim of overeating during this period. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.
The holidays are moments when you want to treat yourself to the fullest after a whole year of working and in the process you lose focus on the amount of food you eat. Food can be very tempting and if there's no self control people tend to eat as much as it is available at their disposal. Either as a kid or an adult, we tend to eat for many other reasons other than being hungry which may be a good looking and tasty meal, the occasion demands that you eat, stress, among others.

Here are some ways to avoid eating too much during the holidays
- Avoid going to an event on empty stomach because you will feel like eating everything you see due to the fact you are very hungry. Going to an event on an empty stomach gives room for eating too much.
- Learn to eat slowly as it helps to avoid overeating. It takes some minutes before the body system recognizes that the food you've had is enough. Eating too fast may allow you to eat much more than your body would ordinarily have. So, try to eat slowly by chewing your food more rather than swallowing quickly.
- Try as much as possible not to skip meals as this can make you eat more as the day goes by, most especially when you are hungry and you are eating a delicious meal. As you know, breakfast is important as well as lunch and dinner.
source - Pay less attention to the foods and focus more on the conversation with your family, friends or colleagues. These events are meant to create memories and you may not be doing it right when you focus on the food alone. Paying attention to the food could help you to eat less.
During this festive season, try as much as possible to stop eating when you are full, not when your plate or pot is empty.
