Norway lost 0-1 to Spain at Ullevall Stadium, Monday (16/10/2023) WIB, in the 2024 European Cup Qualification match. La Furia Roja's winning goal came through Gavi in the 49th minute.
This result makes Spain at the top of the standings with 15 points. Their points are the same as Scotland in second place. Meanwhile, Norway is in third place with 10 points.
Norway's chances of qualifying for the 2024 European Cup are certainly closed via the qualification route. They certainly won't be able to overtake Spain and Scotland with one game remaining. Norway's only chance of qualifying for the 2024 European Cup is via the UEFA Nations League play-off route.
Haaland, who is considered the most fertile striker in Europe, is currently unable to lift Norway's achievements in qualifying. In the match against Spain, he also seemed to have lost his temper.
This Manchester City player only made two shots with only one on target. He also had difficulty getting mature passes, only recording 18 touches in 90 minutes.
Haaland did appear to have minimal support from the second line in the match against Spain. He tried to penetrate the Spanish defense but had difficulty because he was fighting alone.
Martin Odegaard, who was expected to be able to supply Haaland with mature passes, also did not have much creativity. The Arsenal midfielder did not make a key pass at all so Haaland seemed isolated on the front line.
