CHARACTER: THE PASTOR AND A BUS DRIVER.

died and reached the pearly gates at the same time. As soon as saint Peter

saw them, he warmly welcomed the bus driver inside. The pastor was made to stand out in the cold for long. Saint Peter escorted the driver and showed his beautiful chamber.
Much later, saint Peter returned to attend to the pastor. Furious, the pastor said: "I have been a good pastor for a very long time and I have served the Lord very faithfully. Is this the treatment that you give? Why did you give so much important to that bus driver and not to me"?
Then saint Peter replied: "there is a difference. When you preached, everyone slept but when the bus driver drove the bus, everyone prayed."
LESSON!
Prayer is act of communication with God. It is a two way conversation between you and God. That entails talking and listening and spending quality time in his presence.
If you believe that God is your best friend, then this conversation becomes easy.
Start your prayer by thanking God for all the blessings you have received. Then ask for forgiveness for the offences you have committed. Finally, tell him of your needs. Visualize what you are praying for.
One essential aspect of prayer is faith. When you pray in faith, your intentions will be granted, for Christ has assured: "Ask and you shall receive." When you pray in faith impossible things become possible. Pray as if everything depends on God and work as if everything depends on you.
