The extension of BLACKPINK members' contracts with YG Entertainment has recently been widely discussed. The latest news is that three of the four BLACKPINK members have chosen not to continue working with management.
The three members are Lisa, Jisoo, and Jennie. Meanwhile, Rosé was the only member who chose to renew her collaboration contract with YG Entertainment. This is as quoted from Sports Seoul on Thursday (21/9/2023).
This decision is said to be in the final stages of finalization. However, BLACKPINK will not disband. Jisoo, Lisa, Rosé, and Jennie will continue to carry out activities with BLACKPINK even though each of them will be under different management.
YG Entertainment will make separate work contracts if Jisoo, Lisa, and Jennie will carry out activities with BLACKPINK. They will only appear as BLACKPINK members and carry out group activities 6 months a year.
Sports Seoul also stated that Jisoo and Lisa had found their new management. Meanwhile, Jennie has not yet revealed what her career path will be like after this.
Jisoo will continue to develop her career in acting. Meanwhile, Lisa, whose name is now very well known, will become a soloist and continue her activities in both music and television shows. Both are said to have received fantastic offers for this new contract.
It may take a long time for fans to enjoy BLACKPINK as a group again after this. What is certain is that BLACKPINK will remain as a foursome and Jennie confirmed this at the Born Pink concert finale last weekend.
"We will continue to be the BLACKPINK that you love," said Jennie at that time.
