Roma - Romelu Lukaku performed brilliantly when AS Roma crushed Empoli 7-0. Coach Jose Mourinho immediately satirized AS Roma.
Roma destroyed Empoli by seven goals without reply at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Monday (18/9/2023) early morning WIB. Lukaku also got his name on the scoreboard.
Roma scored a goal through Paulo Dybala's brace, and one goal each from Renato Sanches, an own goal from Alberto Grassi, Bryan Cristante, Romelu Lukaku and Gianluca Mancini.
Lukaku got his name on the scoreboard in the 82nd minute. Lukaku scored a goal after receiving Andrea Belotti's pass, without difficulty beating Empoli goalkeeper Etrit Berisha.
This goal was the first scored by Romelu Lukaku at AS Roma. Mourinho gave him praise, as well as satirizing AS Roma.
Last summer, Inter was almost ready to recruit Lukaku. After borrowing him from Chelsea, the Nerazzurri intend to make him permanent.
However, Inter stopped the negotiation process, after learning that Lukaku was also discussing with Juventus at the same time. Lukaku finally canceled his permanent move to Inter, until he was finally released by Chelsea to Roma on loan.
Mourinho, who once coached Inter, asked his former club not to be angry with Lukaku. Moreover, Inter has also performed well so far, most recently silencing city rivals, AC Milan, with a score of 5-1.
"Romelu needs to be happy, needs to feel loved and wanted. He arrived here, immediately realizing the team needed a player like him. He is a man who likes to win," said Mourinho, reported by Football-Italia.
"I think Inter have no reason to be angry, because they won the derby 5-1 and have many extraordinary strikers. So they should be happy for their former coach, who really needs a striker," said Jose Mourinho.
