Preparing cakes for birthdays and other celebrations holds a deep symbolic meaning - it represents the joy and sweetness of life and the blowing of the candle is seen as a way to make a wish for the years to come.
Today we hold the 12th birthday celebration of our daughter Lexie, it is just a simple gathering of friends and family. Today I have seen my family's close ties with the community.
We have received help from our families and of course from our friends....some helped in our food prepations and some helped us with the after party cleaning. Our food may be simple but we definitely enjoyed sharing this moment with our friends and families.
