Baguio City is nestled in one of the provinces in Northern Luzon, Benguet. A 6-hour drive from Manila, I and my friends shared an enjoyable road journey to this stunning place. A nippy morning breeze welcomed us when we arrived here early in the morning telling us that this is it, we are already in Baguio City!

This place is prevailing cold weather because it is highly elevated compared to any other areas in the country, no wonder why people keep on coming back here to escape for a while the city heat.

The city is abundant with pine trees. You can see lots of pine trees planted everywhere you look, which makes the place more relaxing and stunning. This is because the place is often visited by destructive storms almost every year that's why people had to think of smart ideas to resolve this problem by planting many trees that will help hold the soil to avoid erosion, and pine trees are good with it.

But more than that, Baguio City has a colorful and festive event that is celebrated annually, showcasing its abundant harvest of varieties of flowers. And that's the spotlight I want to share with you on this previous travel.

Panagbenga Festival 🌸

It's a joyful festival, proudly reflecting its colorful history and tradition. And every year, many people from different places in the country, happily join the people of Baguio City as they celebrate this colorful parade every February, that time of the year when most of the flowers are in full bloom.

I and my friends woke up early as we were so excited to see how the people prepared their unique decorations of beautiful flowers and props for the Grand Float Parade, which is the most awaited highlight of the event.

The cold morning got us shaking but it did not stop us to enjoy the beautiful and captivating views of flowers arranged most creatively and artistically.

And when Mr. Sunshine finally showed up, giving a brilliant blessing and a clear message for the festival to officially start, people headed their way to the Session Road where the parade took place, and so did we.

The decorations of flowers were already amazing when we got a glimpse of it earlier, it was even more amazing when we saw it in the broad daylight. Flowers were formed and designed in different unique shapes. Gladly I was able to snap some photos of it for you to have a glimpse of.

Aside from the Fluvial Parade, the city also has beautiful people with kind hearts that welcomed and greeted everyone with a smile. Their warm hospitality has perfectly wrapped everyone from the cold weather. And the parade of these beautiful people has also been highlighted, showcasing the colorful traditions and values of their place.
