Shin Tae-yong was satisfied with the game the Indonesian national team players played against Vietnam. That's why he just made substitutions at the last minute.
The Indonesian national team hosted Vietnam in the semifinals of Leg 1 of the AFF Cup at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, Friday (6/1/2023). This match ended in a draw with a score of 0-0.
Overall, Vietnam controlled the game more with ball possession. But the Indonesian national team threatened Vietnam's goal more, both off the mark and on target.

The game shown by Marc Klok Cs also made Shin Tae-yong feel safe. That's why he didn't make any changes to the line-up until the final 10 minutes of the match.
Ricky Kambuaya became the first substitute to replace Rachmat Irianto in the 81st minute. Then three players played at the same time in injury time, namely Saddil Ramdani Witan Sulaeman and Ilija Spasojevic.
The four substitute players are all attacking characters. Shin Tae-yong wants the Indonesian national team to appear more pressing, even at the expense of his team's defense.
"In the match a lot happened on the field. The starting players worked hard. So, I didn't make any substitutions," said Shin Tae-yong when giving a statement after the match.
"I thank the players. Overall they played well. Unfortunately, the opportunity could not be used properly," he said.
The Indonesian national team will take turns being hosted by Vietnam in the semifinals of the second leg at My Dinh Stadium, Hanoi, Monday (9/1). It was enough for Garuda to get a draw with a score of 1-1, 2-2, etc., because of the away goals rule in the AFF Cup.
