An earthquake with a Magnitude (M) of 7.8 rocked the southern part of Turkey. There have been no reports of casualties or damage from this earthquake.
As reported by CNN, Monday (6/2/2023), information from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the M 7.8 earthquake was centered at a depth of 24.1 kilometers from the Earth's surface.
The USGS report also said the epicenter was located 23 kilometers east of Nurdagi, Gaziantep Province.
Aftershocks, said the USGS, which had a smaller magnitude, namely magnitude 6.7, shook about 11 minutes after the first earthquake.
The aftershocks were recorded centered at shallower depths, namely 9.9 kilometers from the surface of the Earth.
