In the final, which took place at the King Fahd International Stadium, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Monday (16/1/2023) in the morning WIB, Barcelona came out victorious. Real Madrid brushed 3-1.
Barcelona finally succeeded in winning the Spanish Super Cup title from the hands of Real Madrid, who won it last year. Not only that, the Catalan club was finally able to 'move on' from Lionel Messi.

For Barcelona, this Spanish Super Cup trophy is their first title without Messi. The Argentinian left the club last season, for Paris Saint-Germain.
After going through the first season without Messi without a title, Barcelona was finally able to win a trophy in its second season without La Pulga.
Previously, Lionel Messi defended the Barcelona senior team since the 2004/2005 season, and almost always brought Barcelona to win. In only two seasons, the owner of 7 Ballon d'Or was unable to present a trophy, namely in the 2007/2008 season and the 2019/2020 season.
