Abu Musa Jabir bin Hayyan otherwise known as Geber in the Western world was a prominent polymath; chemists, astronomers and astrologists, engineers, geographers, philosophers, physicists, pharmacists, and doctors. Jabir bin Hayyan is estimated to have been born in 100H/750M-262H/803M in Kuffah, Iraq. Jabir's greatest contribution was in the field of chemistry. He acquired this skill by studying with Imam Ja'far bin Muhammad As-Sadiq, the 5th descendant of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, during the reign of Mansur Addawaniqy in Baghdad. He developed systematic experimental techniques both inside and outside chemical research, so that each experiment was reproducible. Jabir emphasized that the magnitude of a substance is related to the chemical reactions that occur, so it can be said that Jabir has pioneered the discovery of the law of constant proportions.
