An Oldie Portrait

There is this expression I think time has stolen from my drawings. I noticed it first when I made a couple of portraits of homeless guys. The photo references had high contrast so the interpretation was inevitably beautiful. But then, I notice that most of those features which I so easily impute into these drawings (like depth) began to disappear in no time.


So upon realization and an heads-up by my brother, I sought to remedy this and today's drawing happens to be one of the many steps in the process.


I did leave out the beards intentionally, it looked complete this way....
