Nigerian Politics: Primary Elections Vs General Elections

Primary Elections in preparation for 2023 general elections has begun almost in every state and political party in Nigeria.

They (Political parties) have stated conducting the primary elections for lower tier elective seats. However, the country is tensed as electorate are more particular about who the political parties nominate as their presidential candidates.

Unlike the general elections where the entire voting population cast their votes for their preferred Political party or more appropriately candidates, political party primaries is an intermediary electoral process in which political parties do the selection to pick their individual flagbearers for corresponding positions. That is to represent their party.
Within This period of Primary elections Politician goes around lobbying for delegates. These lobbying becomes more intense as the major political parties have opted for the indirect primary option in which their fate is in the hands of a couple of delegates who have been (s)elected in different electoral ratios by the political parties to choose their flagbearers. But of immense concern here should be the way these delegates will cast their ballot but for Aspirants and for the overall electorate.
