What is forgiveness
This is the act of letting go of hurt, bitterness, grudges, hatred and anger.
A friend recently shared a story with me. According to him, he had a quarrel with a guy in his neighborhood and after the quarrel, they started keeping malice. After a while he went and ask the guy for forgiveness and they reconciled, even though the other guy was at fault. After a week, the guy he fought with died. Imagine the emotional torture he would have undergone if he didn't ask the guy for forgiveness.
Consequences of unforgiveness
Anxiety
This happens to me alot, any time I have issues with someone I will keep thinking about it and each time I see the person, my heart will miss a bit and we all know that anxiety causes High blood pressure.
Anger
Unforgiveness also causes anger. Any time we sees the person that offends us, we get unnecessarily angry and irritated. Research has proven that It takes the body a lot to frown than to smile.
Stress
Unforgiveness makes us easily worked up and irritated, leading to stress which is not good for our health.
Why we should offend our offenders?
Freedom
Forgiveness gives us freedom from guilt and negative emotions associated with the hurt we feel.
Good relationship
