Your ‘Trash’ is my Treasure !

There is no gain saying that, the need to be happy for the very foundations we attain in our lives is important. Nature had endowed us from the air we breathe to the delicious meals we enjoy with our friends and family. We need to learn to discover the value of every aspect in our lives, even if it has become mundane to us. Be thankful for what you have right now and use it as the fundament to built your future on it. Never stop dreaming about your goals and visions, but don’t worry about the things you currently don’t have. Always keep in mind that it is a waste of time to focus on what you don’t have – for it is time that could be spent in taking pleasure in what you have. The motivational quote above, got me thinking so hard about the caption of my article today.

It was a windy Sunday and the village community was out to have her fun . After the celebration of the festival , we thought to put more smiles on faces of our lads. I decided to announce the next event particularly for kids, to my greatest Surprise, I was confronted by some old woman who told me that , they too were still young at heart and we’re gonna come !! 😂this is laughable I said! This is little, just for the kids. But they insisted on coming . In the end it came out well.

As the proverb has it: “You only know what you’ve got when it’s gone.” Unfortunately, many people only realize the fortune they had when they lose it. We have become so accustomed to the blessings in our daily life that we take most of it for granted. The uncared item in our possession is a treasure for someone who has not.

Nowadays, it seems to me that people are too blinded by the fancy, shiny and glorious objects in the distance so that they cannot take notice of the true treasures that are present in their lives. Most of these treasures might not sparkle like diamonds, they cannot be sold and have no price tag, but more often than not they turn out to be the priceless things that make your life not only worth living. I’m in no way trying to down play on our material endowments; but just to reawaken our consciousness that our trash becomes a valuable treasure to so many folks out there .
For every waste you trash , remember that your waste is someone else’s treasure .

Today, we had a great celebration to put smiles back on the faces of our community .
We tagged it , “Your waste is my Treasure” .
I went round cities and got clothes that were no longer used by individuals, whom they referred to as waste or trash !! These trash and waste brought smiles on the faces of our community ! They were so excited that I gifted them such clothes . You could visibly see that for them, these items weren’t waste but needs to be used for a long time coming . We are indeed indebted to people of good will !
I think this is what blurt is all about, towards a transformation of life !
To put smiles on hopeless faces
To change the phase of a frustrated life
To give a reason to be hopeful
To expand coast and capacity . Never destroy “your” waste , it might be a treasure to someone , somewhere , kindly ask and search where it will be needed !

Lessons learnt !

For every waste, there’s a need for it somewhere ! Your trash is my treasure “
So, the need to walk through life with open eyes and (re-) discover the true value of the things you’ve taken for granted is of utmost importance in our lives. To most people in the western world, a constant water supply is completely normal, but one might only realize its virtue when considering that (for example) African nomads have to walk for hours to the next source of water.

Permit me to begin by stating that to an extent, charity has been blurred. A good number of people have relegated it to the background since they believe it doesn’t have an immediate repercussion.

Charity goes beyond saving a little cash and giving out to a poverty stricken old woman on a street. It is rendering help to anyone who needs it in any possible way you can. Keeping aside your schedules to help educate and put smiles on the beautiful faces of others is not a shift away from charity. In fact, it is the real face of charity.

@rajitsear, your approach is an insightful and commendable idea. I crave your vigor and compassionate heart. We must all learn to lend a helping hand and put smiles on the faces of people around us. By doing so, we will be giving back to the society and the world, and making the world a better place.
