Last week after all the wedding festivities we had a few more days of my mother in town before she left on Friday evening. This meant a few more days of having a photographer for me and Dzigbordi and a couple more days of finding some things to do to spend some time with her.
For starters for each evening left we took a walk on the beach. One night a friend of mine came to visit to give his congrats. He is a fellow permaculturist and we got a few pictures on the beach.
We also got another chance to chop love in front of the camera.
The next day we walked along the beach the other way.
I got a great shot of Dzigbordi in front of our apartment after the walk.
The next day we had to move into Accra so my mother could get a Covid test before flying the next evening on Friday. We went to Gallery 1957 at the Kempenski hotel mall. There was a nice art exhibit going on.
He uses wood as the background carving out patterns then uses aluminum from cans and different things to add more color and augment the texture.
In the same mall is a spectacular furniture store.
Next stop in the mall was Amba Gallery. We visited this some months ago and I made a post on it when Dzigbordi was featured in a few of the art pieces. This time they had a collection of African Artifacts from all over Africa, but many of them were from Nigeria.
We stepped into an interesting fashion boutique for Chocolate Clothing to do a little window shopping on our way out of the mall.
After that we went to lunch at a hip little place in Accra called One Corner. My mother is a vegetarian and they have a lot of veggie dishes on the menu and hers was probably the most interesting with Fonio (a type of millet grain), plantain, and sauteed mushrooms.
As nice as it was to have my family visit and let Dzigbordi feel their acceptance and love we are ready for some time of our own and to be past this busy expensive period.
Photos were shot by myself or my mother Samsung Galaxy or my Google Pixel 3xl.
Wow your story is so amazing and it's actually making me feel like getting married 🤭🤭 I'm happy to see those pictures, and I'm happy for the both of you despite your cultural difference, you still fought for love and won it all. I've really learnt allot from your people. Congratulations
Beautiful pictures my man @leifasaur. You really know how to tell a story, and the pictures add a lot more color to your words. I wanted to know if your parents had any reservations about your marriage. Perhaps I could hit you up to talk about it.
I'm so happy for you sir. You're blessed beyond imagination!
Thank you.
My pleasure.
A lot of fun,

Everything is amazing,

You are leaving a picture one by one which is making our heart more inclined. I am very happy to see these pictures of you. And I will always remember this moment of your marriage that you showed us through the post. But I have Request you once before that we need a wedding party in India. on your behalf. Either way you arrange a party for us. So that we can celebrate your wedding party in India too. And what we all will always remember, then I pray to God to keep your couple safe forever.
I love the wood pieces you share here. Years ago when I was married I bought a 6 foot wood carved Giraffe statue for her. It was 750.00 and I feel bad because I'm certain whomever carved the magnificent piece got just a pittance of that.
I've had many marvelous wood pieces over the years back when I was buying large lots at auction to resell. One day when I have some stability I will start a collection.
The boat piece is so intricate in your photo, the work of a true craftsmen.
Thank you for sharing and hope your parents made it safely home and life is settling in back to normal for you.
Yes the wood work here still very nice and artistic. Many of the other skills and artisans are being lost to replication from china and the youth and others chasing bigger money. But it is possible to still find some nice wood work. Yes sadly the original cover saw little of that $750 but that is not why you bought it anyway, it was a gift and that is what is important.
Yes we hope you open your wood carving collection museum soon.
Happy for you sir @leifasaur you are blessed by the good family in your home happy once again
