New Beginnings: Beach Life

Tomorrow I start a new position as a general manager at a little beach resort about 1.5 hours out of Accra, Ghana. It is near a town called Gomoa Nyanyano. It is a beautiful place and well designed rooms. It is small and only about 14 rooms though. We have some condo developments in the future that will have some benefits for the owners under over all hotel management.

For the mean time the place is beautiful and the challenge will be to grow the customer base as we hopefully come out of this corona era.

Dzigbordi and I went down there on Sunday as I had a meeting with one of the directors and just to check a few things out. Of course we took advantage of a little time on the beach and to take some pictures

I will be leaving most of my life behind in Accra to be a resident manager though and this comes with its benefits and cons.

Cons

1. @Dzigbordi my girlfriend will have to remain in Accra as she works for an urban farming company and she is an active model with many upcoming jobs.

2. Away from my friends and a lot of my network. I will only have mid week off when things are stabilized.

3. 1.5 hours out of Accra so I had to make sure I have everything taken care of in Accra before tomorrow because I probably wont take much time off for a few weeks.

4. I am concerned about the tole the constant sea air and rough road will take on bucket.

Pros:

1. I will be living in a nice apartment on the beach side, a clean beach none the less.

2. My friends and girlfriend are keen to visit me on the weekends.

3. I will get to start surfing regularly again it has been a slow year in that department.

4. Room and board is taken care of and employment is always good as it has been a slow year for business still.

5. The owners are cool and we should be able to make this business run well.

6. It is only 1.5 hour from Accra so it is not too far.
