Yesterday was Mother's Day, a day recognized globally and dedicated to all mothers for their God-given and natural ability to birth children, nurture them and keep the human race going. No doubt, it's not easy to be a mother and this celebration also extends to women who foster children as well.
A significant part of this celebration is the examination of how empowered women have become in this present time. How can we celebrate our mothers if they are not yet brave enough to voice their beliefs, values and enjoy their independence? It's like asking them to celebrate indoors where the world cannot see them.
We live in an age where women are gradually coming into their independence, understanding their stand and power in society. This is something we have been denied in times past.
I use the adverb 'gradually' because it's a start though some may feel it's not. I cherish the statement of Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex:
"I hear a lot of people speaking about girls' empowerment and women's empowerment — you will hear people saying they are helping women find their voices. I fundamentally disagree with that because women don't need to find their voices, they need to be empowered to use it and people need to be urged to listen."
It's no secret women have been silenced in years past for inexplicable reasons. The Duchess had always been outspoken about women's rights until she became a royal and it was revealed that attempts were made to silence her. But she took concrete steps to find her voice again. We have more work to do towards empowering our women globally to use their voices.
Women should be confident to voice their stands on every subject under the sun without fear of being silenced. As we progress in this respect, I believe our world will become stronger. Our children will grow up to be confident as well and embrace their stand in life.
This stage of women's empowerment was not achieved by mere words; people made sacrifices to get us to the point we are. It's up to us to keep the trail blazing and use every medium within our grasp to air our views, beliefs and values.
Happy Mother's Day!

One thing we all agree about women is that they are so wise and creative. They are natural-born problem solvers. We have seen women who get into influential position do great and mighty things. Just imagine what will happen if more opportunities were given to them.
On a lighter note, we have already celebrated four mother's day just this year alone. Lol. That's so unfair.😀
😅 Aren't mothers the best? We should celebrate them everyday!
Hopefully, more opportunities will be given to women to thrive in every society. Thanks so much for your visit and support. 🙂
Nice take on this subject matter. Our women all over the world should not be held back from expressing themselves. They shouldn't be discouraged from exploring opportunities. Anyone that is capable of doing things should be given an opportunity to do so.
I absolutely agree! It's our hope that further progress will be made on this subject worldwide and women will attain the height of empowerment that we have always wanted.
Thanks for your visit! 🙂
What an interesting words to women💪
It's high time we take our stand and be heard globally withou any form of restrictions neither should women be silenced anylonger.
Together, we shall achieve this big win!
