Today I have been so stressed out and week after waking up from my slumberest arena.
As an academic student artist I have been given exam on traditional fabric design at textile department of I have to design a fabric for a birthday fellow artist as a gift.
I went out for the material at Yaba in Lagos State in Nigeria where I wanted to purchase fabric materials for dying and get dye materials too like
Here are the materials for dying fabric
The Fabric material absorbent to be 100% cotton.
Dye stuff of different colours
Chemicals these include, hydro sulphate and caustic soda ,Hand gloves
Twine or plastic thread and Dye bath.
Getting my fabric down which is 3 trousers length to my department i started with folding it into two and i took pencil creating circle and different fold and tying with thread.
After done with tying then i soak it inside water before the the water go hot I prepared my dye stuff with hydro-sulphate and caustic soda then pour the hot water on it and steered it all round.
Firstly deal with the lighter color which is pink color and the pour the last color which is deep green with small amount of Black dye make it more sharp.
I tried to tye the pink part which is first color with Lyon not to blend to each other,before pouring the second color.
Am totally in love with the end result see the proof bellow.
Rinse and Wash
I took the clothe to the tap unlock the water on it and rinse them out. Once washed can be dried and sown.
