About

Blurt which was made due to the steem hard fork is a decentralized Social media platform where authors and content creators are rewarded for their creativity and innovative thinking. Just like steemit, blurt has alot of nice features and it was launched in July 2020. The great part of this platform is that the developers are still working day by day to make the platform even better. When I first signed up one of the first posts I saw was a post made by the developer updating the users on the current developments. It's still young and already has alot of users trooping in and still alot more to come. It is our duty as users to be active and promote blurt to our fullest.

Notable Features of The Blog

It shares almost the same interface as steemit and hive but alot difference can be seen. On blurt blog there is nothing like communities, they make use of hashtags. You are usually required to use atleast 5 tags where the first one would be the most important.

Unlike steemit, to make a blurt account isn't free. Either a former user gives out 10 blurt to make a new account or a new user is required to pay a certain amount usually $3 to make the account. When a post has been made it takes exactly 7 days from the day of posting before it pays out. A post or comment inorder to be posted you need a little amount of blurt to be paid before it can be executed. So you have to hold a certain amount of blurt in your blurt wallet to be able to perform actions on the platform. In default, whatever is to be paid out from that post 50% goes to the curators while the other 50% goes to the author. The 50% going to the author is further divided into 75% BP and 25% blurt. The wallet section consists of your blurt balance, blurt power and savings balance then the account value in USD.

It is really easy to use and understand. They basically make use of the same markdowns in steemit and hive so one can do both. Blurt entails consistency and active participation to be used. I still have alot to learn as I am still new but I want to make the best out of this opportunity.

Before going I would love to add that the blurt community frowns at plagiarism and spun content. So we should always desist from such acts. The platform rewards people for their creativity thereby bringing out the best in people. If you steal and post, this aim would be defeated and no one would like for their hardwork to be stolen. Thank you for reading.
