THE INTERNET OF THINGS (IoT).

The Internet of Things, or IoT, is simply the billions of physical devices everywhere in the world which are connected to the internet. They all collect and share data. This is made easy by the availability of super-cheap computer chips and the effectiveness of wireless networks, it is possible to turn anything into a part of the IoT. Connecting up different objects adds digital intelligence to the devices that would have been dumb, enabling them to share real-time data without involving a human being.

EXAMPLE OF AN IOT SYSTEM.

In case you are still wondering what the IoT system is all about, here are some instances;
A camera could contain a chip which records the pictures taken by it, then a computer at a remote location can be connected to the chip wirelessly through networks and data on the camera can be accessed.
Cars, thermostats, and many other objects can be the internet of things.

A thing in the internet of things could be any human being with a heart monitor implant, a domestic animal with a biochip transponder , any automobile that has inbuilt sensors to notify the driver when tire pressure is
low.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THE INTERNET OF THINGS?

According to a reputable Tech analyst company known as IDC, the number of connected IoT devices is more than the number of human beings in existence. This is a sign that the IoT is rapidly taking over and people need to take advantage of its potentials.
The internet of things aid people live and work in a smarter, as well as taking complete control over their lives and properties. Appart from offering smart devices to automate homes, the IoT is also essential to businesses. IoT
provides businesses with a real-time view of how their systems really work, it also delivers insights into everything from the performance of machines to its supply chain and logistics operations.
