Testing comment functions while muted from different front ends

Good mourning it is 12:13am I should be sleeping right now but since I crashed almost immediately after arriving home for a few hours, my sleepiness has resided for now.

I am still being bombarded with DV on hive so I made a new account under a new name. And sure enough, they haven't figured out who I am, but I knew it wouldn't be long before someone started to permanently DV me based on difference of opinion.

Which is why I like blurt.

But wait, so how do we fight abuse on the blurt Blockchain?

We don't.

Sure there is automated Software to detect child porn for example and block that. That's a great start.

But what about theft? Such as plagiarism?

Well that's the tricky part about this chain.

And it's not so tricky.

There is no way to combat that apart from putting a warning label next to the username and maybe people won't vote their content.

It's really up to whoever is running which front end.

Another issue I have personally is free speech zones being violated.

What free speech zone?

The comment section in specifically. It is the public forum for open discourse.
But there's this issue with being muted.

Let's be clear about something.

I have no mal intentions, but nor do I care about being muted. It's silly to me but you go ahead and do what you want with this information if you choose. I'm not explaining myself to no end with those who bury their head in the sand to hide from thoughts that contradict your own beliefs. That is not a sign of maturity but quite the opposite.

Well we can agree to disagree and that is fine with me.

Muting

Muting is completely fine with me. It does has a good purpose to shut let's say, repetitive comment bots, harassment from other users, or simply you don't want to see their content because it doesn't suit you for x reason. That is fine. Nothing wrong with that.

Muting serves to block contact being made from the other user to you.

But to block someone through mute but then also this action blocks the muted from being able to speak with others or be seen by others in the public forum(the comment section), then that would be a violation of free speech rights because you are blocking access to someone's right to be reached. You are restricting his or her reach to be seen by anyone else who doesn't have the user muted.

I will demonstrate what I mean in these next few photos.

I want to add that beblurt has given me a surprise for before it was restricting free speech but has turned a leaf on free speech principles.

I hope it stays that way. So thus I feel more at ease using their front end platform now. As you can see, I am writing this on beblurt.

blurtlatam.intinte.org

Notice how I can still see the reply option. Replying while being muted by @angelquotes on blurtlatam.intinte.org is very able.

Any one else who had not muted me can you see the comments I made on angelquotes latest post using blurtlatam.intinte.org?

Of course you can.

But let's go to a different one and test this out again.

blurt.blog

image

Reply disabled

Blocked from comments. I can't even comment on other people's comments if there were any. It's 100 percent blocked.

Free speech is moot on blurt.blog with the mute function being the way it is.

What if I want to warn someone from a malicious site posted on a post written by someone who has muted me from the blurt.blog site?

They wouldn't be able to see it even if I wrote it on a different front end that lets me, and they were on the front ends that supports censorship. I would have to hope that they use a front end that allowed them to see. Or make a separate post and tag them. That's One example.

blurt.intinte.org

Shame, I had hopes this would be different.

image

Reply disabled. Tisk tisk.

Is this how we are going to attract visitors to stay? Are they being notified that their mouth is being black taped over by muters on these front ends before they join?

It doesn't matter right? So long as they join and buy BLURT, who cares right?

blurt.buzz by @Megadrive aka Obama drone boy jr.

Megdrives own front end and designer of this mute censorship function.

I couldn't load any username for that matter. It got stuck on infinite loading.

image

But I would take a pretty good guess and say the mouth gag is enabled here. Gay.

NEXT!

blurt.alloyxuast.co.uk

Couldn't load the page at all. This from end is a dud it seems.

NEXT!

pwa.blurt.blog

The loading screen took forever that I almost discover a new color.

It would let me type a response but I couldn't hit the submit button to reply anywhere.

blurt.sagarkothari88.one

This also would not load at all.

Just what exactly are the blurt community paying them to do here exactly? Or are they getting paid at all?

This concludes the experiment.

6 different front ends, not including the blurts Mobile app

Only 2 of the above mentioned front ends support free speech 100%

Do what you will with that information.

Peace out!

@fervi take a look at this modified fe b, it looks like the mute function still works.

@yayogerardo if you know programming and are willing to take on writing a new FE for this function, then you can start ;)

The idea of blurt is decentralization and lack of censorship, but decentralization also means that some people will introduce not only mute function but also other restrictions on their FEs. Some people are like that, even if you hit them on the head, some will sooner kill you in revenge than want to listen to something that could potentially save their asses ;) They simply want to live in sweet ignorance because they are afraid to live in truth. And as long as there are such people, there will be such frontends.

Nevertheless, writing a script that will post a comment on blurt is quite easy. I found out about it by creating appreciator. So in general, there is nothing stopping you from creating a simple app where you provide the permlink of the article you want to comment on, along with a simple form to write a comment, which can be done in a few hours ;)

In my opinion, there is nothing to complain about because the blurt network is a milestone towards no censorship, and although it is still not perfect, it is much better than on hive or steem.

I would not worry about getting downvoted or muted on Hive or Blurt. I get everything downvoted on Hive . It’s hilarious. 😂 since I earn way more $$$ in layer 2 coins that can never be downvoted there…. Just by adding a few hashtags to all of my Hive.blog posts ….

#pepe #meme #pob #cent #waivio #lolz #ecency #bilpcoin #pimp #lassecash

The trick is to create a few Hive blogs with Ecency and post there using the above hashtags. You also earn Ecency points that you can use to get 200 Hive Power each month to earn an extra 15% from Curation. It adds up to lots of dough. If you have any interest in $$$.

I notice that everyone on Blurt, Hive and Steemit says that they have no interest in money. That’s fine yiu can convert all that Free Hive Crypto into Bitcoin and Dogecoin and give it all to your Grandkids.
