What that really sounds like to me:

More mind control. More extortion.
Death and prisonment for the unfaithful. You shall obey or else. Etc.

It's so blatantly obvious what the intention is being called for, but one trapped in the illusion will ignore their moral values and ethics and approve of the message via upvotes.

In regards to the bots:
Vote trials set to people you can trust may be hard sometimes. What if they are using it to vote content that calls for the approval of something unethical. In my opinion, either search for people who curate responsibly for themselves and just follow their votes. Set it to a small amount. And even smaller for comments. You check every now and then and curate your own. I think that will be healthy for all. More on that later.
