WHY IS EVERYTHING A BIG SECRET ON HIVE? ....."I'll TELL YOU ON DISCORD"

in blurt •  3 years ago

"You're not on Discord? That's where is all goes down!"

Those are the words from @aggroed during the one brief conversation I had with him in Bangkok at the last steemfest event in 2019. I only understood the deeper meaning of this years later, but it always struck me as odd.

Even during my early days on steemit in 2017. People there were always saying, "let's talk on discord". At the time I never understood why that was so important. I've been told many times over the years that I'm about as honest, direct, and genuine as you get in this day in age. I'm a horrible liar and simply don't feel good being deceitful.

I enjoy and feel good about posting and commenting on the blockchain for all to see, perfectly transparent. I have nothing to hide. I thought you were supposed to converse on the "social media" blockchain, that way people can up-vote you too, and you can share information with everyone and they too can chime in on the "social media" blockchain!

I've always thought my presence there was to use the blockchain as the communication interface, not a totally separate platform. Why on earth is so much conversation on Hive actually not taking place on Hive? But instead a platform that is designed for private discrete conversations?

You can even see it here on Discord's homepage. (Image credit: discord)

"imagine a place where just you and a handful of friends can spend time together." Sounds like the total opposite of Hive, Blurt, or Steemit. Yet this is the preferred place for many on Hive to spend their time socializing. A private place, for just you and a few friends to talk privately. A place where you can keep secrets, plan, plot, scheme, abuse, threaten, and more without being seen on the public blockchain.

Now, I'm no fool. I understand some topics are personal and are only to be shared privately. But what I've seen on Hive especially after doing some research shows an entirely different picture; a true need for secrecy. The phrase @aggroed used that has been echoing in my head for years now is........ "Discord is where it all "GOES DOWN".

What the heck does that mean? What the heck is going down on discord? All the backroom shady deals? All the planning and scheming? The truth shared between the few, and a BS narrative for the masses to be misled and taken advantage of? Or maybe a private reaming, graveling, and boot licking session for the down-voted? Coordinated attacks on targeted accounts? Or how about racist attacks like I experienced in the Hive Watchers discord server like this one.

This really does not have to be a long post and maybe we should just wrap it up with a display of screen shots showing how they operate. Especially the down-vote enforcement arm of the "hive cabal" called hive-watchers.

This group who was voted into power and funded by the top witnesses on Hive use a satanic occult owl as their logo for Christ sake! It's led by another anonymous faceless top witness who goes by the bizarre name of @guiltyparties. He is a master of taking their dirty laundry to discord where it can not be seen by the public.

Here is a reply from an attempt of @guiltyparties to pull this individual into the private chats of Discord. This person certainly has a good understanding of what is going on. His name will remain private, and rest assured he has my utmost respect.

Now see top hive witness @themarkymark respond to this issue. Sounds like a whole lot of BS to me.

It's "logical" to take engagement off the blockchain?.....%80 of hive is on Discord? What?....

What kind of culture of secrecy do they have going on over there?

The "hive cabal" are mostly anonymous accounts. For Anonymous Marky Mark to spin this like it's a good thing is remarkable. What is "going down" that is so private that 80% of engagement/discussion needs be done on a private chat platform not Hive "social media" blockchain?

Until next time I will NOT see you on Discord. I'll see you on Blurt! Hope you all are having a wonderful day!

In blurt most witnesses always say less discord, more blurt. So we always invite you to publish your concerns and encourage public debate. Here there is no problem to lose your life in discord. greetings

That is excellent. I'm in full agreement with Less Discord - More Blurt!

The ONLY thing that they are doing at HIVE is Pushing the right group of adopters over here and irresponsibly pumping the Token in a very stupid way... all because of the IDIOTIC reward "Pool" and a DV button that makes Monsters out of Nerdy fuckwits who will NEVER come out of the closet but want the Block's Protection.

Guilty will be finding out soon that HE has NO Protection... even if he do have his very own Discord Server.

Well said. Thank you for adding to this post. Glad you enjoyed it. :)

Ironically that comparison post i shared with you a week or so ago that after a year was still ranked first in Google. Somehow it's been delisted from all search engines. Not sure how that works but I suspect it had a helping hand, lol.

Wow. That tells you how high up these connections go. Unbelievable....and it tells you how valued their Hive is. It will be interesting to see which way the price of hive brakes. It's at a pretty critical spot. I would assume down, but if they are this well connected, you never know.

I wouldn't count them out of anything though. The daily volume on exchanges is pretty high, especially compared to Blurt. I knew this coming in when Blurt was like .003 with super low volume. It's quite possible Blurt will always be worth a fraction of Hive and have but a fraction of volume, which I can live with.

Steem/Hive was created with very deep pockets and as such probably has some amount of wash trading taking place that allows for an illusion of much greater value than we have here as well. I suspect most all projects that are top ones do this, so not calling them out on it as much as an acknowledgement.

I personally think it will be a small attrition they will experience that will benefit us the most. They have the edge on users, dapps and exchange listings and of course the money that was behind it and made upon creation.

I dunno I have always seen blurt going to a dollar at some point in time and hive self imploding eventually maybe after one more run. I trust my intuition but let’s see hahaha we should place some bets with blurt 🤣

My gut feeling is very much in line with what your intuition is telling you.

I feel it could do one more fake inflated bull run which sort of makes me think I should wait to sell out final but then I’m not totally convinced it might just drizzle out

I see no reason Blurt can't one day be as high as a dollar. But it will require a lot of work as well as much more volume. Hive has millions traded daily, Blurt has a few thousand.

I don’t think it s about just getting people over from hive I think blurt needs to get adopted by the general public either tick-tock or Twitter or just on boarding creative friends. If everyone here on boarded 20 great bloggers imagine how busy this place would be

Hive was as little as 8 cents not all that long ago. So I could see the price going either way. However I am sure there is all sorts of things going on there like the wash trading you mention. And yes, deep pockets are fully backing them, but will they pull their backing? I'm just really eager to see which way the price breaks out of that triangle on the weekly chart. That will be a huge tell.

I always view the TA and such as a faulty barometer. It seems to me that there are a group who are uber rich in coins who manipulate the patterns we see in crypto. At any point they can create a new pattern in effect shaking down those smaller investors who use the previous patterns as paths to investment. Much like the stock market. :)

I know what you mean. The big money uses it to their advantage with a lot of fakery. aka false breakout/down then buying back lower. That seems like exactly what just happened in the silver market the past couple weeks. And that's one of the most suppressed and manipulated of all.

Not rly it’s not that hard. I had a friend that used to do naked modelling and then got a more serious job and she managed to get every single image removed from Google I think you literally just pay and it’s not that expensive.

I'm all in here!💪🏾🌞🍀 So much toxicness on Hive... ⚗️🧪🧫🤢

We probably should all just post every day On hive and upvote each other’s posts and collectively downvote our down voters. We still might not make money but we would rly eat into their daily downvote if we were co ordinated inour efforts🤣 we would need to do some kind of auto voting tho so as to avoid having to log in.

50 or so of us posting daily/ upvoting and down voting in sync would be so annoying for them.

Play them at their own system.

  ·  3 years ago  ·   (edited)

I think we should all post, comment, and promote blurt over there while ignoring them and their scam controlled monetary reward system all together. It will be funny to see how nobody interacts with us in fear of down-vote. lol

Talk about a psychological experiment! hahaha

Making friends with the tier one and two users and showing them there is big opportunity on Blurt would be most disrupting.

Well if 100 of us did it it’s almost a full time job down voting us and then it’ll mean they can’t downvote other ppl on there lol we can actually just post the same post every day lol all of us

I'm just going to dump data on their chain, All day long, just encryption garbage from discord channel... so it essentially IS a full time job that they have to keep up with. 🤬🥓

  ·  3 years ago  ·   (edited)

As petty as it is they might realise their own downvote button is actually capable of being used to cause them as much annoyance as it does us lol
If they actually had to continually downvote hundreds of people every day to keep control their outreach would become pretty limited and it’s not doing anything that isn’t allowed either.

I'm partial to operations on the chain that probably makes ME want to buy the token. But I bought some STEEM back in the day... Along with some HIVE once... As a follow up. BOTH investments could have produced 10x-20x gains if played out. I think the better investment model is dropping a DV and finding more witnesses to micro charge for developments.

Aside from the DV... 😎 The ditty secret is it doesn't cost much to SPaaM HIVE... All day long

Screenshot_20220429-124233.png

But at least on BLURT ... The DEVs can get ahead because DV was replaced with fees . 🤬🥓

I don’t see much money being made off hive because even if it goes to 10 dollar a coin that’s only 10 x blurt to 10 x is still only 30 c and much more realistic imo .

  ·  3 years ago  ·   (edited)

I don’t personlly think they want hive to do well I think it’s a controlled experiment or they want it to be small enough to have total control. Loads of instagram ppl joined once and they just insulted them and drove them off the platform. They drive off most talented people, or people when they start earning rly good money. The only ppl rly allowed to earn money there are ppl who couldn’t actually make money from what their posting in the real world if you notice. These ppl are more reliant on them and easier to control. For example is a guy who earns rly well who just posts mobile photo shots of abandoned houses. The posts are fairly interesting but have 0 commercial value so they know he needs their platform and to follow the rules to make money. The pro nft artists / artists / working photographers / models blah blah won’t be bullied like that or support seeing others get bullied. They are also More of a threat to one day taking control of the platform so they aren’t the centRe of it anymore. It’s v specific who is allowed upvotes if you look and the kind of ppl... generally ppl that show very subservaiant temperaments. Meester boom is another he writes absolute waffle imo I rly have no idea what it’s about I tried to read a couple of things and it just makes no sense at all. Outside of of hive it has 0 commercial value. I’m not even being mean here just completely observational. If you could find one place meester boom could earn £1 for what he posts outside of hive and steemit I would love to be shown I am wrong. Same with abandoned house guy. There are blogs and forums that share those images but not for money really. They get a very inflated ego I find for people that have no real world value at all with what they are posting.

Steemit will pick up now Justin sun stepped down. It will always be a bit centralised and not like bluet but I think it could defo hit a dollar again.

I think @northerTracey just deleted all her posts so they didn’t get the google data and put links to blurt when I can be bothered I’m going to do the same because I have pretty high google results my photography takes about the first 5 pages of google I don’t rly want them benefiting from it.

I think people take for granted what's at stake here. Bravo for Tracey ✊
The DEV path forward for BLURT should look very much like Google from 20 years ago.
BLURTsearch
BLURTmail
BLURTmessaging
BLURTetc

Except P2P and Decentralized... Making Witnesses on the list more responsible.

Really nice topic but we are here on BLRT not on the Steem and HIVE Blockchain. So maybe you should focuss on this topic ...

Thank you for the kind advice. I just had a look at your blog and I really love what you are doing for the platform. Keep up the great work! 👍

Well, I am enjoying the best of both chains! The upvote here and the awesome all inclusive downvote package over on Hive for taking a stand against scummy whales.. 😂😂😂 I love it!!!! 🤪

Hey, thanks for posting.

I've always hated Discord. I installed it when I started on Steem/Hive 5 years ago, but have used it maybe 3 times, and only when asked to do so (on the blockchain). I never open it otherwise. I find it hard to understand, and pointless since I don't like chatting often (wastes too much of my limited time). And recently, Discord started monitoring messages for naughty words and concepts (like the truth), totally shutting down any semblence of free speech. So I tried to delete it, but it won't let me, because I have to first hand over a chatroom I made (which has never been used). I don't know anyone on there to hand it over to. So I have to keep the program. But I'm still not going to use it.

I agree, much of Hive is hidden. But nothing will be secret forever. At some point, probably within a decade, AI will piece together everything on these blockchains. Solve all mysteries, find everything that was lost, catch all thieves, locate all scumbags, etc. And it won't stop at the blockchain. Before long it will have knowledge of every keystroke and mouse click and screen tap, ever made, including in Discord. And all "guilty parties" will be known to all. Total disclosure. And then, we can all be aware of who did what.

So these guys doing shady crap had better repent, so to speak, because judgement is coming and probably sooner rather than later. Exponential moves go very slowly until they go really really fast.

Since I started on Steem, I was disturbed that 3rd party software seemed to be "required" to participate. If you want to ask freezepeach to uncensor your content, you need to use Discord. If you've been flagged by some nasty bot, you need to use Discord. And if you want to get into sneaky cliques that bully other users together, you need to use Discord. Naaaaaah. Not interested!

Hey there @dutter! Thanks for stopping by and adding to this blog post. it's very true what you say and enjoyed reading your well thought out comment. Having started from Steemit myself since May 2017 that is totally correct. Right away I was pushed to use a third party app to communicate privately. I love how Blurt encourages communication where it belongs on the blockchain. Either way, the AI will know all!

It began on steemit chat.

  ·  3 years ago  ·   (edited)

I see Discord as my communication base for almost everything. Blurt is the place I post to a blockchain. The voice channels, music bots and apps we can use in discord blow away what can be done in just commenting on posts. Its like adding a couple of dimensions to the online experience. Of course some people do use it for privacy purposes, I have always used my servers to transparently connect with and network with people from all over the internet. grow blurt radio & community https://discord.gg/CktVgmFq

That is great. I know there is a place for it. But even Marky Mark himself says 80% of conversation on hive is really taking place on discord. I just think that's a bit much. I get what you are saying about how you enjoy discord and it's ease of use. But I'm here for the blurt experience and can barely make time for much else, plus I enjoy conversing on the blockchain, where all the faces and names I'm familiar with here are present. Heck you never know, maybe @themarkymark will chime in on this post, wouldn't be the first time! haha

Personally I never got much into discord other than one to one private conversations, but that is just me.

I APPROVE the use of Discord as an audio environment... Especially for occupational purposes such as radio work and promotion.
This would be a useful effort 🤬🥓
High Regards.

They have a secret Slack group, Devil knows what evil scheme they talk about there too, maybe so sensitive enough they do not want others to know about it.

Exactly....

I was in a private group near beginning in 2017 it’s prettty damn dark. I hate to think what goes on in the even more private ones . They can keep ppl isolated for a bit and when one speaks out label them crazy / over sensitive etc it’s only when a whole bunch speak out ppl take notice and they have less power which, is happening now.

I really underestimated Discord... That was a real eye opener mate!!! 😮

Here is mass screenshots of 2021 from the HW appeals server. I didnt get much after for I was put in timeput permanently for asking questions but they called it "helping the accused abuser" which isnt allowed.

So they have a gang of individuals vs 1 person and they don't have a right to have help either. Doesn't that sound like military court?

https://mega.nz/folder/hP5wjJgS#kzVj5rsXbmAy5ENSxXWZnw

You need to get hold of the old steemit chat ones from the private groups; they had several

Im no James Bond. I am not sure I will even have access to those. These screenshots I gave are "public" as it gets in regards to their privately owned discord server. I no longer have access to that area of chat. Only timeout, which nothing really goes on there anyways.

One of the most unfair things I have seen was what happened with "oatmeal". A layman with "extreme autism" as he himself claimed. Was denied access from veiwing any evidence of the conversations he had with guilty parties or of the hw team members.

It started with a complaint from a female who felt oatmeals words were pervy and creepy. the HW stepped in and started DV all his posts without explenation first. He then tried to make an appeal but eas treated unethically and unfair from what I saw.

I read up on the comments where the accusations started and there were just randome one liners, complimentary type. nothing pervy. Maybe a bit wierd but nothing that could have just been talked out in a friendly matter between the two parties.

However, HW decided to be something extra, something outside the range of just real abusers. They were now the thought police. "Do not give compliments to women or else."

I’ve seen several ppl in hive watchers who clearly had various mental functioning issues be treated horrifically in there. It made me sad to even watch so I avoided the discord. I saw someone appeal for their brother or something once who was mentally ill and his posts were not even bad or negative just didn’t make much sense. He said it was his brothers only pleasure and they just greyed him out and blacklisted him and basically said F off. It’s horrific.

It's totally sick and disturbing. My experience was basically the same. Meanwhile after all this publicity, many still choose to whistle past the graveyard while remaining securely fastened to the Hive Titanic.

Years ago i had a run in with these wankers, and I refused to use discord any further. The trail of ill will they have left behind over the past six years will haunt them.
