I come from a long line of hoarders and maybe I've been destined to break the habit of collecting stuff; or maybe not and I'll soon be hoarding once again!
Since I sold my house in Florida back in 2014. I also sold and gave away just about everything I owned other than a box of stuff that I keep with family. Other than that it all fits into a backpack, or a motorbike these days.
I used to have all sorts of stuff. I think I was into collecting kitchen gadgets. I had an antique waffle iron, an old kitchen-aid mixer, an old school sandwich maker, and a bunch of other stuff I would almost never use....but when I did use it, I had a lot of fun as I really enjoy cooking.
So tell us, what's in your attic, basement, storage room, or simply collecting dust somewhere in your house? What are you hoarding? What are you collecting? Let us know and receive at least a 50% up-vote from me, and I encourage others to vote as well to help spur engagement here on Blurt!
If I was back in my home country of Australia I would show you my attic which is full of all vinyl records from the 60's music up and all my old vintage car models but I am not in my home country but in Old Phuket Town in Thailand today and I came across this old vintage motorbike repair shop which had some pretty old world war two motorbikes and a whole lot of spare parts all over the place look like he was hoarding some bits and precises there but the motorbikes were classic.
Very nice. That looks like a classic! I love walking around and stumbling across new shops and place like this. Thank you so much for taking the time and keep up the great work on your own blog too which I really enjoy as well.
Prepping for a future of not being able to get things - a lot - but a 600 line spreadsheet would be very boring!
You name it...
That photo of the records got me thinking - maybe I am a hoarder...
I used to have 600 records but they took up too much space so I just kept my top 100 and sold the rest - I do still have 3000 albums as MP3's though
Bicycles - I had 10 for a while, but I just kept four for sentimental reasons and sold the other six along with hundreds of spare parts (I used to own a bike shop)
Books - I had about 1200 but just kept about 300 and sold the rest (I do have an ebook library of 11,000 ebooks)
Cars - I had three Subarus, but wrote off two and sold one - these days I have no licence and use ubers
And all that is nothing compared to the prepping for the apocalypse hoarding now
I think we found our winner folks! That's awesome though. Sometimes I wish I had all sorts of stuff that I can basically dig through and play with...especially when they hold some value of their own as well. If I had a lifestyle where I was very much set in one place...who knows how much stuff I'd have now. I was certainly on my way before I let it all go, and went full minimalist traveler.
I have a big Parabolic antenna that I bought for a few thousand Pesos, I am not using it anymore so it is in the unused room now @world-travel-pro and I am not actually planning to sell it too even though there is a little chance that I can ever use it again as an antenna for my Internet broadband connection.
That is some beyond random sh^t....pardon my American English.....but seems like that is very much the kind of story I was looking for. Maybe I can trade you an old waffle iron for your antenna! lol Have a great day buddy!
Yeah it is a mirror of how technology gets to be obsolete fast. I used to pay expensive slow and terribly throttled internet connection. Now I can get connected for free thanks to my sister's wired fast Internet connection, I used to pay her every month before but she just do not want to take my payments anymore.
Anyway I could sell the Parabolic antenna but I do not think anybody wants it anymore.
I like collecting stuff, but not just any stuff! Coins, cards, occasionally stamps, rocks, shells. I have far too many Magic cards still (had a business selling them for 17 years). I don't play much nowadays but still have most of my old decks. I'm also kind of a minimalist so I try not to have clutter.

That is cool. For me, when I live in one place for a while...things start to accumulate and pile up. When I was locked down of a beautiful tropical island for much of last year...by the time I left, I had to have like a mini garage sale! lol
Never got into the magic cards...but that is cool. Especially since you're were able to turn it into a business.
I'm thinking I've got to come up with some better new topics last time. Animal Sacrifice and Hoarding....maybe time to take a big bong hit and have a brain storm! hahaha Thanks again for your contribution as always....and seriously, great work shining a light on the sign-up issues... glad that stone was uncovered now rather than never....
Thanks man, yeah let's deal with the signup issue asap, no sense in us being locked in here by ourselves...
We made a Thai-inspired curry here the other night, much cheaper than the one we ordered a while back! And all of it from the local farmers market and our back yard. Katie said I put too much spice in there but it was just right for me ;P
That is awesome. I bet your home-made Thai curry was far better than the restaurant too, and yes, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do about the sign up issue.

Thanks so much for taking the Time to Blurt! ;)
Hahaha....Nice!
I have a few old records from the 80s... That's about all... 📀
I was hoping for something a bit more raunchy to be honest....but records for the 80s will have to due. ;)
I'm hoarding some books. There are some books that are very precious and useful to me so I don't wish to let it out
Nothing wrong with that. My grandparents had a whole encyclopedia collection....
There you go...Written especially for this post !

Sounds like a good deal you've got there. Yes, tech gets obsolete, faster and faster it seems.
