What is Mana on Blurt??

Long story short. I am trying to delegate a large slice of my stake to @beblurt but every time I do it I get an error message saying that I do not have enough mana.

How much of your stake can you delegate and how do you get mana? Why isn't mana something that is ever mentioned?

I just want to delegate some of my BP, it is mine to do with as I please is it not?

I think that you have to wait for your voting power to reach 100% first before you can delegate a large chunk of your BP.

That would explain it. Thank you very much @cryptopie! 👍👍

Yes it is a thing here in Blurt that we do not see but feels it when we try to delegate.

I tried delegating before and this makes sense as the solution.

I will rest my vp and try again.

It's not just Blurt. Hive and Steem work the same way. That part of the code is still the same as it was on Steem when we forked. It hasn't been changed.

Thank you, @thegolemseye, for your interest in @beblurt. Are you encountering this error message when delegating via BeBlurt or https://blurtwallet.com? I think @saboin will likely provide a better response due to his better knowledge of the Blurt blockchain than me, but I once encountered this issue during some tests. It happened because my BP was at 0, and which surprised me a bit as the wallet held enough BLURTs for the operation and to pay the fees.

I noticed that last week, you successfully delegated 600,000 BP and then changed to 80,000 BP just after, which you stopped after 3 days, not reaching the required 7-day duration for it to take effect. For delegations above 40,000 BLURT, there's a 7-day waiting period to receive the initial rewards with your delegation to avoid penalizing other delegators. Unfortunately, you didn't receive your initial returns, which would have been around 16/20 BLURT per day for 80,000 BLURT or around 120/150 BLURT per day for 600,000 BLURT. The problem may also come from the fact that there is a 5-day cooldown period when a delegation is stopped/modified.

To make up for this, I've sent you a transfer of 500 BLURT as a token of appreciation.

Thank you, that is most kind! I have been attempting to delegate 700K last week was me attempting to do it via Blurtwallet. I was encountering the error via blurtwallet.com. I think as the error relates to mana that cryptopie might be right and it could be because I have run my voting power down. I am going to let it get to 100% then attempt to delegate again.

Thank you for the Blurt and the input. I hope I can successfully delegate very shortly 👍

Thank you. I intend to support you with a sizeable delegation once my VP is back up to 100% 👍

Hope you already go the answer..If not just wait until your vp recharge back to 95-100% and try it again..Once you delegate your Bp, it always change your vp and you have to wait until it recharges.

Thank you, I think that will do it. As soon as I read that it made perfect sense so as not to double spend the voting power!

Will find out soon :)

As others have mentioned, mana refers to your voting power. You can only delegate a percentage of your BP that is equal to your voting power.

As an example, if you have 100 BP and your voting power is at 75%, then you can only delegate 75 BP.

Other things that can affect this is if you have a power down in progress (the amount that is powering down cannot be delegated), or if you have expiring delegations.

If you undelegate, the amount you undelegated will be locked up for 5 days before it goes back to your account. If this is the case, it will show up under expiring delegations in the Blurt Wallet (https://blurtwallet.com/@thegolemseye/delegations).

Thank you my friend. It all makes sense I was just puzzled as I thought I had figured most stuff out. Now I regret being so profligate with my voting power over the last few days, lol.

I shall be resting till I get back to 100% then I shall be free to use it as I see fit.

Thank you once more!👍
