One of my hobbies are hiking. And for until a few years ago, I just did hike around Bergen City (Norway), because that was the easiest to do. Didn't have to drive, could just go out of the door in my flat and up on the nearest mountain.
A friend told me about an Application I could download to my phone, that made hiking to be a competition. You get a map showing the hole county near Bergen, or other places in Norway, and on that map there are a lot of blue questionmarks. All this blue "dots" is mountains or checkpoints that I haven't been on yet. In my county there are about 3500 "dots" in total. Some of them have already turned green, because I have been there
Last year I did manage to get on 418 "dots", some of them are up to 1800m high, and some are just as low as 6 meters. I got in to 9th place off all the people that are using that app. Luckely, all the "dots" I did last year, are still green this year, so I can just keep hiking.
Yesterday I was on a hike for 7 hours. There are som distance between all these "dots" so it's really nice to have a car. I started around lunch time, and manage to get 6 "dots" before 6pm.
