“Another morning,” Louise murmured to herself as she got out of bed.
“Another boring day.”
She rolled her eyes as she stared at herself in the mirror.
She took a long look at her disheveled hair which stood up in spikes, her eyes were still puffy from sleep, the shirt she wore was too big for her small stature.
“I look terrible.” She said to her reflection and nodded.
Maybe that’s why Richard doesn’t show any interest in me because I always look terrible, she thought as she tugged at the hem of the big Tee she wore and stared at it in displeasure. She suddenly did not fancy it anymore.
I usually don’t have the time to doll myself up for a class like the other girls.
She heaved a sigh as she applied toothpaste to her toothbrush.
Wait, is that why he doesn’t pay attention to me?
Because I don’t wear makeup?
Louise scoffed and shook her head in disapproval.
What a vain human. Natural beauty should be his mantra seeing as he has it in abundance.
“In abundance..” She said out loud.
He was created by God on a very good day.
Louise’s heart began to beat a little bit faster as images of gorgeous Richard came to her mind.
“He is just wonderfully made.” She said with a pout as she prepared to shower.
I wonder how he manages to look so good all the time, I just wonder.
What routine should I adopt?
She thought.
I could ask Phoebe… nah, she’ll just ignore me like always, probably make fun of me too.
Like she’s a queen or something.
Louise hissed loudly.
She’s the queen of everything artificial for sure.
Louise laughed softly.
I wonder what Richard sees in her. Why does he hang out with her all the time?
Are they in a relationship? I pray they aren’t.
Please, Lord, Phoebe and Richard are not dating, right?
But that is how it seems.
“Laughing, holding hands all the time because that is what you do when you are in a relationship right?” Louise said into the showerhead.
“Ow!” She yelped when scalding hot water touched her skin. She forgot to turn down the heat now it was too hot to bathe, she had to bathe cold water.
Louise heaved another sigh as Richard occupied her thoughts once more.
What can I do to get him to notice me?
What if he does notice me and I don’t notice him noticing me.
She chewed on her lower lip as cold water ran over her head.
He congratulated me the day I got commended in a class by the lecturer.
That doesn’t translate to ‘hey I like you' does it?
Louise shivered a little as she stepped out of the shower.
She furrowed her brows.
It has been three weeks and he hasn’t said anything else to me, he doesn’t even look in my direction.
Louise sat on the chair in front of the dresser and began to pat her hair dry.
I caught him staring at me last Friday during lunch though. Does he like me?
Louise let out a tiny gasp as she sat up straight in the chair.
Maybe? Maybe not?
I guess there is only one way to find out. I have to confront him and hear what he has to say.
No, that’d be jumping without thinking.
