Europe's largest nuclear power plant, located in Energodar, Zaporizhzhia region (ZAES), is still under the control of the Russians, and there is also a high threat of global catastrophe if the ZAES comes under fire.
Last night, this threat was incredibly close again: Energodar was fired upon by the Russians, the site of the ZNPP was hit next to the spent nuclear fuel storage. 3 radiation monitoring sensors were damaged, windows at the station were broken from explosions within a radius of 800 meters.
According to the mayor of Energodar, Dmytro Orlov: "Apparently, they targeted spent nuclear fuel containers, which are stored in the open air next to the firing sites. 174 containers, each of which contains 24 assemblies of spent nuclear fuel!" quote
Найбільша в Європі Атомна електростанція, що знаходиться в Енергодарі Запорізької області (ЗАЕС) досі знаходиться під контролем росіянців, а також залишається висока загроза глобальної катастрофи, якщо ЗАЕС потрапить під обстріл.
Вчора ввечері ця загроза знову була неймовірно близько: Енергодар було обстріляно росіянцями, влучання було по майданчику ЗАЕС поруч із сховищем відпрацьованого ядерного палива. Пошкоджено 3 датчики радіаційного моніторингу, від вибухів в радіусі 800 метрів вибито вікна на станції.
За словами мера Енергодара Дмитра Орлова: "Вочевидь, цілили саме по контейнерах відпрацьованого ядерного палива, які просто неба зберігаються поруч із місцями обстрілу. 174 контейнери, в кожному з яких по 24 збірки відпрацьованого ядерного палива!" цитата

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) condemns the actions taking place at and near the ZNPP. But so far, apart from the expressed concern, it does not give anything. President Zelenskyy, in turn, asks for stronger sanctions due to the shelling of the ZNPP, wants to draw Europe's attention to a possible nuclear disaster. There would be an appropriate reaction faster, and even better - it would be faster to de-occupy the territories and bring back under control the ZNPP, which was completely safe under the Ukrainian authorities...
Міжнародне агентство з ядерної енергії (МАГАТЕ) засуджує дії, які відбуваються на ЗАЕС та поблизу неї. Але поки що окрім висловленої стурбованості це нічого не дає. Президент Зеленський в свою чергу просить посилити санкції через обстріли ЗАЕС, хоче звернути увагу Європи на можливу ядерну катастрофу. Швидше б була відповідна реакція, а ще краще - швидше б деокупувати території і повернути під контроль ЗАЕС, яка при українській владі була у цілковитій безпеці...
