Blurt Blockchain: August by the numbers

Greetings, fellow Blurtians!

As per our monthly tradition, it's time to take a deep dive into the data that has shaped the Blurt blockchain last month. We're already in the month of September, and each new period brings its own stories, trends, and revelations within our vibrant ecosystem.

During this exploration, we will scrutinize the fundamental mechanisms that propelled Blurt this month, from witnesses to communities, transactions to rewards, and much more. The numbers and charts will tell us the story of the past month, the achievements, and the developments that have marked the platform. No need to worry, as usual, I'll do my best to make it easy to understand, and this month, you'll even get a few new additions!

Get ready for an in-depth journey into the data, discovering what made the Blurt blockchain buzz in August. It's time for our monthly rendezvous with numbers and highlights from our community. 📈💡

As usual, we will make a 4-month comparison with the months of August, July, June, and May 2023.

In August 2023, the block producers, who are also known as "witnesses" on the Blurt blockchain, had the responsibility of generating 866,157 blocks.

The witnesses are elected by the community through voting so you can show your support by casting your vote at https://beblurt.com/witnesses or https://blurtwallet.com/~witnesses to give a better ranking to your favorite witness(es) 😉

image

Witnesses votes

Same as last month, we'll take this opportunity to talk about witnesses. How many of you cast a governance vote for your favorite witness(es) last month? 🤔

image

It's starting off strong! Witness votes have surged by 44% compared to last month. A big thank you to all the voters for their active participation in Blurt blockchain governance voting. As a result, I'm not sure what to expect for next month. Also, thanks to everyone supporting my witness.

For those who don't understand what a Witness of the Blurt Blockchain is or what responsibilities a Witness has, I invite you to read my post One Year as a Witness: A BLURT Block Producer's Journey 😉

Proposals

As we talking governance operations, maybe you will be interested by the payments made by the Blurt Decentralized Fund to the proposals.

What is the The Blurt Decentralized Fund (BDF)
The Blurt Decentralized Fund (BDF) is a community-driven decentralized finance platform that operates on the Blurt blockchain. The BDF was created to provide financial support to Blurt ecosystem projects that contribute to the growth and development of the platform. The BDF operates through a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that allows stakeholders to collectively make decisions on funding proposals. Anyone can submit a proposal for funding, and the community votes to determine which proposals will receive funding. Proposals can range from technical development to marketing and community building initiatives, and are subject to community review and approval before funding is allocated.

Fund Balance: 1,143,496.866 BLURT
Daily budget: 11,434.969 BLURT
Daily Payments: 11,434.969 BLURT

image

Just like with the Witnesses, I encourage you to read each proposal and support the ones you choose with your vote to help the proposer secure funding. You can read the proposals on BeBlurt here: https://beblurt.com/proposals or blurtwallet there: https://blurtwallet.com/proposals

Transactions & Operations

In August 2023, the witnesses' blocks recorded 203,366 transactions and 207,959 operations (with one transaction potentially containing multiple operations).

image

The number of operations as well as the number of transactions experienced a very slight decrease last month (9,671 operations less, -4.44%).

New Accounts

Let's take a look at the number of new accounts created which is a good and interesting indicator.

image

After a decline last month, the number of new accounts created is back on the rise, with +13.8% compared to July. Now that I'm starting to get some time back after a very busy July and August, I'll be able to get back to developing the onboarding system with affiliation.

Active Accounts

So, is account activity following this trend? That's what we'll see in the next graph, which tracks all account activity on the Blurt blockchain. Any user who interacts with the blockchain through a non-virtual operation (vote, transfer, delegation, comment, post...) during the period is considered an active account.

image

No real difference compared with last month, with 11 fewer active accounts (-1%) compared with July.

Distinct Authors

What about the number of unique authors on the Blurt blockchain?

image

Here again, no big difference from last month, with 3 more authors (+0.4%).

Posts & Replies

With all this, what about publications and comments.

image

Since June, the number of comments on posts has increased and now even exceeds the number of posts. However, the total number of posts (11,169 in August) has slightly decreased by 4%, with 477 fewer posts compared to July.

Communities Posts & Authors

As Blurt Communities continue to grow, with 21 Blurt Communities created as of today, +2 compared to July.

image

I can't wait to see what August brings in terms of community posts and how many authors are using them now.

image

A nice progression this month with a 17.39% increase in the number of posts in Blurt communities 🚀

image

A slight disappointment to see the number of authors in the communities drop, I hope to see better results for September.

If you're interested in learning more about Blurt communities in general, and why not create your own Blurt Community, I invite you to read this post: COMMUNITIES Have Arrived on the Blurt Blockchain

Frontends / dApps

And how the posts are distributed by Frontends / dApps, that's what we will see below.

image

For the month of August, we can observe that Blurt's official frontend, with 6,910 posts, has made a modest rebound of 1% compared to July, breaking a streak of consecutive monthly declines.

On the other hand, Blurtlatam has experienced the opposite, with 1,664 posts and a decline of 16.25% compared to July (323 posts fewer).

Actifit has seen a slight decrease of 4.39%, while Dtube has experienced a more significant drop of 18.89%.

Meanwhile, BeBlurt continues its upward trajectory with an impressive 34.68% increase 🚀

As was the case last month, because this metric alone isn't sufficient for accurately defining the popularity of a frontend, it's time to examine a graph representing the distribution of authors for each frontend.

image

Previous months:

image

BeBlurt continues to gain market share in the distribution of authors among the various frontends, showing a growth of 1.1 points. Blurt's official frontend, on the other hand, advances by 0.4 points, while Blurtlatam loses 0.6 points. Actifit, on the other hand, remains relatively stable, with only a 0.1 point decrease.

Now let's see what's happening on the financial side

Authors Rewards

How much did content creators earn in rewards last month? We'll soon find out.

image

The month of August witnessed a significant shake-up in the top 10 accounts that received the highest author rewards. August also saw the arrival of new accounts on the list, as well as the departure of others. It goes to show that nothing remains static on Blurt.

Top 10 accounts that received the highest Authors Rewards:

  • 33,830 BLURT : @cleanenergygarro with 153 posts & replies (up 1 position)
  • 22,369 BLURT : @hangin with 136 posts & replies (down 1 position)
  • 20,703 BLURT : @rubelynmacion with 294 posts & replies (up 3 positions)
  • 18,519 BLURT : @offgridlife with 144 posts & replies (down 1 position)
  • 16,739 BLURT : @oneray with 145 posts & replies (up 4 positions)
  • 14,648 BLURT : @outofthematrix with 113 posts & replies (up 13 positions)
  • 14,254 BLURT : @kryptodenno with 29 posts & replies
  • 13,771 BLURT : @rtytf with 30 posts & replies (up 3 positions)
  • 12,718 BLURT : @cryptopie with 51 posts & replies (up 5 positions)
  • 12,608 BLURT : @cjsdns with 30 posts & replies (down 2 positions)

I would also like to remind you that on BeBlurt, you can find this information on the user dashboard as explained in this post: BEBLURT | Update v0.3.0 | Blurtian Analytics Dashboard

Curators Rewards

A graph similar as usual.

image

Top 10 accounts that received the highest Curators Rewards:

Very little change in the rankings for August, with @beblurt having recently increased its Blurt Power by 1 million through Power Up and receiving new delegations. I'm looking forward to seeing what September will bring.

Thanks to all the delegators of the BeBlurt's MyDelegation program it's now 4,241,456 BLURT POWER dedicated to manual curation 🎊

If you'd like to join the BeBlurt Delegation program and help us distribute even more rewards next month via 100% manual curation, I invite you to read this post: BeBlurt's MyDelegation program with 85% Rewards Back.

Beneficiaries Rewards

The Beneficiary Rewards on the Blurt blockchain refer to a system where a portion of the rewards generated from a post or comment on the platform is allocated to a designated beneficiary account. This beneficiary account can be any account on the Blurt blockchain that the author of the post or comment chooses to support.

When a user creates content on Blurt, they have the option to designate a beneficiary account and set a percentage of the rewards that they would like to allocate to that account. The beneficiary account can be any Blurt account (their own account, another user, community, dApp/frontend)

Once the post or comment is published, the rewards are distributed among the author and any designated beneficiaries according to the percentage set by the author. This allows authors to support other users, communities, or dApp/frontend they believe deserve recognition and rewards for their contributions to the platform.

The Beneficiary Rewards system is intended to encourage engagement and collaboration among users on the Blurt blockchain and to foster a culture of generosity and support. It is also a way for authors to demonstrate their appreciation for the work of others on the platform.

FYI: On BeBlurt, posting in a Community will automatically add a 3% beneficiary to the Community owner's account as a contribution to its growth (you have the option to add more % if you wish but cannot remove it).

image

Power Up / Down

With a total of 2,595,242 BLURT powered up in August, not only has this number increased by 334,855 BLURT compared to July (a growth of +14.81%), but also, for the second consecutive month, the amount powered up surpasses the amount powered down by 207,522 BLURT.

Top 10 Power Up are:

Before listing the Top 10 Power Downs, a little clarification, doing a power down does not necessarily mean selling your BLURTs but simply putting them in liquidity ;)

Top 10 Power Downs are:

Transfer from & to Exchanges

As a reminder: Only Probit and PancakeSwap (BBLURT) are recognized as an exchange for BLURT by CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap and only the values of this exchange determine the value and volume of exchange on these 2 major websites of the crypto world!

Top 5 Exchanges transfers to Accounts are:

Delta from/to Exchanges

Similar to July, August experiences a negative delta between BLURT sent to the Exchanges and BLURT received from the Exchanges, amounting to -411,185 BLURT. However, this is an improvement from the previous month, where it stood at -969,875 BLURT.

image

Conclusion

Despite turning out to be a typical summer month, just as I had envisioned, August still brought its fair share of surprises. These include a remarkable +44% increase in witness votes, a 13.8% resurgence in new account creations, a faster-than-expected growth of BeBlurt, and most notably, the major shake-up in the top 10 accounts receiving the highest author rewards. It goes to show that nothing is truly static on the BLURT blockchain, which I find rather exciting.

As Blurt continues to evolve, these insights provide valuable perspectives on its journey and potential future trajectories. That's why if I were you, I'd click on the @nalexadre Follow button to make sure I don't miss the next analysis 🤣

Once again a great progression this month @rubelynmacion with 3 places won 🚀 🎊 Congratulations 🎉

I cannot make it on my own. It is all because of the blurt community's generosity and continued support. For all those blurtians who upvoted my posts and comments, thank you very much. I am forever grateful.♥️👏

The creation of communities is a useful and nice feature but I hope they do not diversify as much as in Hive.

I'm kind of excited because, in the last report, I was ranked #9 among the accounts that received the highest author rewards, and in this report, I'm ranked #5.

This tells me what things I should do to continue climbing positions and see my performance improve on the platform.

You are the best, my dear @nalexadre.

Thanks a lot :)

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with BeBlurt on your iPhone @ultravioletmag. What is your model of Iphone? On my Iphone 12 it works. I think it's probably due to an old version of BeBlurt.

Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshooting the issue:

  1. Clear Cache Data:

    • Open your iPhone's "Settings."
    • Scroll down and select "Safari."
    • Scroll down again and tap "Advanced."
    • Tap "Website Data."
    • Search for "beblurt.com".
    • Finally, tap "Edit" at the bottom right and then "Delete" to clear the data.
  2. After clearing the cache, try accessing BeBlurt again.

If you continue to experience problems, you can also reach me on the Discord of BeBlurt 👉 https://discord.beblurt.com

I hope this helps you get BeBlurt working on your iPhone!

It’s a 14 pro. Is it an app or a web page

It's what we call a Progressive Web App; it behaves like an app, but you don't need to go through a store to install it.

??? Not understood

Blurtlatam.com and blurtlatam.intinte.org are two different front ends. The former is not even functional. And the latter is not even mentioned as a front end by "the foundation".

Posted from https://blurtlatam.intinte.org

As pointed out by @outofthematrix

it is data deriving directly from the blockchain.

In this case, for the distribution by frontends, it concerns the "dapp" field present in each post within the "json_metadata". This field was created to specify from which frontend (along with its version) a post was published.

If the use of "Blurtlatam" as the frontend name for blurtlatam.intinte.org appears unclear to you, I would suggest reaching out directly to the person responsible for this frontend, which is @fervi, to discuss modifying the value of the "dapp" field when publishing a post.

This isn't about any frontend in particular. It is data deriving directly from the blockchain.

I know what this post is.
