I haven't been present online in the last few days because we were preparing to launch my husband's first book. It was a long process from the writing of the book to the editing and proofreading (which I handled), to the illustrations and printing. I didn't realize how much work went into producing a book till now. It was finally launched successfully last night on Zoom. The turnout was amazing! We have about 80 participants and almost all of them bought/paid for 5 to 50 copies each!
The discourse in this book is tailored towards providing a compass for living a well guided life. My favorite part of the book is the point where hubby talks about mentorship. He said and I quote, "The ability to accommodate the "new generation" in your space is an expression of true maturity; to experience the sweet pleasure of seeing those you once trained outperform you in your lifetime; to be able to sit and watch a new generation emerge, shine, and out-shine you is not loss of relevance but proof of upgrade in relevance. It is maturity to know that the best is yet to come; to mentor instead of feeling threatened. Mentoring affords us a rare opportunity to cultivate and develop those who must outperform us. Factored into the curriculum therefore, must be whatever will make for a better succession."
All in all, 'Think Differently' is a truly good read, and I say this from a very unbiased point of view regardless of my relationship with the author.
I can't wait to read this. I know he is a man full of wisdom and having to tap from him would be a huge blessing.
