Hello Blurtters,

We have different types of vegetables here in West Africa and also in part of the world. But in the west Africa we are also blessed with different types of tree crops, we also have the perennial crops, we also have the grains crops which ranges from plants to plant and it is also placed based on their ability to survive and to produce fruit naturally. In this form we also have all the green vegetables in another varieties nowadays. The varieties which is now called the hybrid is different from those ones that we already know.

The hybrid green vegetables also comes in different color which also makes it more different from the ancient color or species of green vegetables. I also emphasize on this because so many people fall into victim of planting all sort of seed they see around. Yes it is good when it comes to keeping records this will also enlighten you to know how the green vegetables grow in time duration. What is also exhibit before it reaches it maturity state. This is where this particular African spinach comes in. It is different from the ones you normally say in the market or you normally plant. I said this because even though I have been visiting different farms from one state to another, I have never seen this type of African spinach in farms but I know that some farms may have them but not in large quantity. This African spinach is called the red African spinach.

The red African spinach has a lot of differences that makes it more different. First of all,I will like to talk about the appearance that you will quickly see from a close range or a very far range. What makes it different from the ones you buy in the market is that the color is red or brown in nature. I took some pictures of how it looks when I was on the farm.

  • When you plant this particular African spinach vegetable you will definitely see that, sometimes it may quick to germinate in another time you may see it for long it germination period. That is number one.

When it's also reaches the germination stage, it grow up massively which shows that the ability to grow from the soil is always 95% from other seed of green vegetables. Its also riches the consuming stage at it early stage. This means that when you plant the seed and it starts to germinate, its reaches the stage that you as a farmer will go there too fetch the leaves and eat at a very tender stage too.

When you leave it for so many months without proper Farm maintenance it will start to show up it wildness behavior which means that the seed will start to show up even though they are in a very succulent state. And before you know it all your farm will grow up seeds all around.
